Campaign: This campaign is a mashup of Lost Mine of Phandelver along with Dragon of Icespire Peak through to Divine Contention.
Game: D&D 5e
Group type: Online
Experience: New to veterans welcome
Location/Timezone: I’m on Eastern time, you don’t need to be
Schedule: weekly 3 hour game
Roles sought: Looking for 5 player total
Game style: Pretty heavy RP and joking around in my other games, I suspect this will evolve to be similar. Don’t feel like you need to figure your way out of every situation, but fighting can be fun some times.
Duration: This will be a long term campaign (1 year, perhaps longer if we are all having fun).
I really value diversity, inclusion, and respect at my table.
About Me as a DM
Heya! I love role playing when a group comes together to interactively create an amazing, epic story. Setting the stage is my role and I dive in with gusto. Driving the story is your role and my hope is that we can keep each other inspired to do so. I really enjoy weaving in your backstories and creating opportunities for the party to come together and help each other be their best.

my character: a folk hero called doc whos a human fighter always trying to show up to stop fights and help wounded people. but he has a very strict three strike rule.

What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I love when we get really immersed into the session and everyone gets to really enjoy themselves. I hate when arguing breaks out in the middle of the session and isn't resolved quickly.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: A Vedalken Wizard (chronurgy) named Solomon that is aspiring to become a renowned mage. Not content to simply be another wizard in a tower, he aims to understand and master the secrets of magic. To that end, he wishes to use what he learns in order to better the lives of the deserving.
What is your preferred campaign (roleplay, combat, exploring, NPC interaction, or mixed)?: My preferred campaign is a mix of everything, but is geared strongly towards Roleplay and then combat.
Other (anything else you would like for me to know): Really like your take on Lines, Veils, and overall incorporation of a safe phrase.

What I love/hate about in sessions : I think I really like the roleplay aspects especially with other characters. I can't really think of something I hate at the moment.
Character Idea : I was thinking of shifter (swift stride) rogue (scout) named Dreg (low key might change the name) . A want to be good person plagued him at a young age but the inability to in house he was raised in. After a choice he made he left his home and choose to become to adventure to fix the mistake he made.
Preference : I think I like all aspects

What do you love/hate in your sessions?:
Love - Variety of situations / challenges we face, possibility of out of the box solutions
Hate - Spending a lot of time arguing about the course of action, or too much combat (pure rolling and mechanics, it is fine if there is RP/banter/unique situations)
What is your idea for a character?:
Mountain Dwarf Barbarian - Kadjar Stonescribe, an assistant in the office of Construction regulations. He got fed up by the bureaucracy, lashed out at his bosses, and left in search of adventure. Letting the anger show felt good especially when directing it against pointless tasks and rules!
Forest Gnome Sorcerer - Breemyra Brightspark, an archeologist that found an artifact that granted her visions. When she looks at her future she sees glimpses of her death, so she avoids it as much as possible, instead trying to guide others with this powers.
What is your preferred campaign?: Mix - Roleplay and exploration (including puzzles and such) first, then NPCs and combat (lets say 30/30/20/20%)
Other: Like others; I appreciate the effort and care put into the summary of the game. Building on the previous question, I enjoy telling a story together, using failures and successes alike to shape the characters and the group.

What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I wouldn’t know.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: I’ve been spending way too much time on this trying to figure out everything on the character sheet but, 127 year old Wood Elf. She’s a Druid. She was an entertainer dancing and fire eating with a traveling circus. I did roll for the personality traits in the player handbook and my favorite parts of it are that no one can stay mad at her for too long even through she hates not being the center of attention and that her flaw is a pretty face! I love it!
What is your preferred campaign (roleplay, combat, exploring, NPC interaction, or mixed)?: since I’ve never played a session I’m going to assume mixed because that all sounds great!
Other (anything else you would like for me to know): just that I hope you had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to hearing back! Oh! And also that fridays at 3:45-3:55 my kiddo gets off the bus so I’d have to pretty attentive to wait for him and get him situated but he is usually just dying to get outside to play and enjoy his weekend so it’s not too in the way but I totally understand if that’s a no go or if any of this is! :)

D&D Experience: Fairly new, leveled a character to level 7 in a campaign that fell apart due to others' lives.
What do you love/hate in your sessions?: Love immersion and group interaction. Hate the group getting hopelessly sidetracked in nongame related conversation.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: Dwarf, Cleric. Thorin is a grizzled battle-worn veteran. He lost too many friends and loved ones during his time with the military. He left his life of war in search of something more, a god took notice of this and bestowed his powers on him to heal the wounded and down trodden. Thorin has never been a religious person and thus is struggling with this new found power and faith that comes with it.
What is your preferred campaign (roleplay, combat, exploring, NPC interaction, or mixed)?: I like a healthy mix
Other (anything else you would like for me to know): I really like the story telling aspect of this game and hope to learn to be a DM in the future! I figure the best way is to play and learn from others.

What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I like a laidback session, and I don't like when players argue or when players are left out of discussions.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: Goliath Barbarian with a solider background. They're lawful good but headstrong and basically a himbo (strong/stupid/loveable). After leaving the military they set off to find bigger and better fights to get into in order to prove themself as a true Goliath.

Other (anything else you would like for me to know): I'm also EST and have a pretty light school schedule so it would be easy for me to work around other's schedules if needed. Due to his slightly crazed nature he gets the weird looks as he acts slightly outside of the norm. But that's just him, he sees shiny and wants to know how and why it does what it does. He's good mannered and wants to help where he can. Anywhere he goes he tries his best to make everyone smile.

D&D Experience: Waaaay back to 1e/AD&D. 30 year's of real life RP and now trying to come back.
What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I like an interactive story. I don't want a linear plot where "You see a door - inspect for traps - go through door - fight monster - repeat". I've only ever played with a close group of friends so I don't know how the dynamic would be with people who don't know each other but it should be fun. I'm not offended by anything and I sometimes forget that others might be, so please let me know if I say something inappropriate. I'm not set in my ways but I am still learning all the time.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: Waylin Sixstrings is a Rock Gnome Bard who just wants to be legendary. He's a laid back "surfer dude" type who turns pretty much everything into a song. He's looking for a group of great adventurers that he can accompany and chronical their tales that future generations will sing about.
What is your preferred campaign (roleplay, combat, exploring, NPC interaction, or mixed)?: I definitely prefer the roleplay aspect, although a few battles sprinkled in can also be fun. I love interacting with NPC's.
Other I've not played online, so this will be a slight learning curve for me. I recently discovered Critical Role and I'm binging it daily. That's what pulled me back in. I hope I can join a group like that.

What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I hate nongame conversation that takes time away from game. I like to play I like to joke around I like to pretend I am my characters so I may even go off on funny tangents.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: Half Elf, Paladin. Drahcir Thennek doesnt know he is a paladin. Serves his god faithfully but has no idea he has been blessed to be a paladin. He wants to prove himself he was born a cripple a malformed leg that still services just fine but when people see how he walks they look at him differently and he assumes they think less of him. He then either crushes them in fights or proves it by doing work or feats better than he saw them done before. No idea in part this is do to his gods favor because in the face of adversity he still strives onward.

What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I loved the times when we had fun together. Things I didn't like was when people would just leave the campaigns.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: I am thinking on useign an artificiar Satyr, with a War veteran bacground. They are working on several things that can help inprove the lives of amputies, and for the defense of villages.

D&D Experience: Played several years of 3.5 edition DnD in person through many campaigns in middle and high school. Really want to play my first 5e campaign! I've read through a fair amount of sections of 5e source books just for fun and I have all of them available to share on DnD Beyond.
What do you love/hate in your sessions?: I love role-play and exploration and ocassional combat. I hate tons of out-of-character rule bickering/discussion.
What is your idea for a character (list their race, class, and a sentence or two about their motivations)?: I'd like to play a Verdan Wild Mage Sorcerer with a fascination with the fey. They like to think their magical powers come from a fey blessing. They love to explore and improve their magical abilities just to see what random effects will occur. They are thrilled by adventure and have a particularly intense case of the wanderlust innate to the Verdan.
What is your preferred campaign (roleplay, combat, exploring, NPC interaction, or mixed)?: I guess I would like a mix with a preference for role-play, exploring, and NPC interaction.
