Hey there. Do you remember MUDs? (Multi-User Dungeons). If you are too young to remember...a MUD is the text based (generally) predecessor of the MMORPG. When I was a teen MUDs were all the rage (or at the very least I thought they were pretty cool) and the one I played in particular was Shadowdale. It is a DnD 2e inspired MUD based in a Forgotten Realms style setting.
Essentially it is a roleplaying game where the computer is the GM...you can wander the world, fighting monsters to level up and grow stronger...but it is all text based. Frankly, playing muds as a kid is what made me such a good typist...now I can type 70-80 wpm if I push myself...and that is all from repeatedly typing Bash Goblin. :)
Anyway, Shadowdale is still up and running 25 years later...and it can be fun, so if your interested download a telnett client like PuTTY or KiTTY, or even a MUD client like MUDlet and give it a try.
