[EST Player] Gloomy Ranger looking for a Home

Game: D&D 5e

Group preferred: Online 

 Personnel: I’m a stay-at-home dad who used to work in a Robotics testing facility for a university, avid collector of 80’s nostalgia and Sounders fan   

 Experience: At the beginning of the Pandemic was invited into my 1st game where the campaign dissolved after 6 months. Since then, I’ve familiarized myself with D&D Beyond. We originally were playing on Roll20 but I’d like to try VTT if possible. We used Roll20 with Zoom (I’d prefer video if possible). I have set up a Discord account and have characters created on D&D Beyond. I’ve also purchased a few of the books and familiarized myself to a level where I think I’m proficient. Not that it counts as experience, but I’ve watched 80 episodes of Critical Roll from Campaign 2. I think that’s important though because that’s the kind of group I’d like to have some day, lighthearted, maybe taking it serious but not too seriously. 

Location/Timezone: EST 

Availability: Thursday - Tuesday 6 - 9pm (or later if needed)

Preferred role: Player

Game style: I left off as a 3rd level Ranger and I’d like to continue as one if possible (Will start at level 1 if needed). I’ve created a backstory that could use a bit more fleshing out, but the lore is enough to add to a campaign if needed while also creating some interesting encounters. I haven’t roll played much but after watching Critical Roll I now understand the importance of it to distinguish between the character and the player. Lastly, I’d like it if the campaign went for awhile if possible.

That’s it in a nutshell, I got a taste and for the past year I’ve honestly been craving to play again. I miss the ridiculous attempts at tactics going wrong, laughing (friendly wise) at how poorly someone rolled at what they’re proficient in and generally having a good time. I hope that this works out, thanks to all that checked me out and have a great day.

Is it just voice or video also? It’s an odd question but I find seeing expressions help. Thank you for reaching out.

At the moment we only use Discord for voice/music and Roll20 for VTT.

Thank you for the response. I hope you have a great campaign. I think however I’m going to quit trying to be part of a campaign myself. It’s a nice idea but it just doesn’t seem to ever work out and I think I don’t understand it. Thanks again.
