Several adventurous souls have undertaken the invitation to join an expedition on the Nile, each with their hopes, dreams and motivations. Some wanted glory, some hoped to find riches. Some were just bored, and some were desperate to prove themselves. They included scholars, soldiers, starlets and sages. They first gathered in London, then onto Amsterdam and finally to Warsaw. From there they boarded a plane bound next for Bucharest that would then take them to Cairo.
Somewhere over those desolate mountains, the plane disappeared.
All souls were presumed lost. But four of them survived the crash and set out for a way out of the valley.....

Personal information
I've been running DND since my middle school days and very taken with the story of I6: Ravenloft. I've run it once in 5th Edition already and am looking forward to running it again, this time with a twist. I've been streaming games for over a year and have a growing audience. I'm excited to work on this project and am hoping to meet more players to bring into the fold.
Game Setting/ Quirks
This is based in 1918 therefore we are homebrewing some mechanics and rules at the table. Among them:
Firearms - We are still discussing using the set rules for firearms (which would require us to more carefully limit ammunition) or reskinning weapons (ie a rifle uses the crossbow stat block).
Limited Races - All human party unless special circumstances. Changes to non human races are possible after arriving in Barovia
Classes - If we can make it work with the theme, we can do it. If it would break the setting we may have to talk about how to get around that.
Tricky Magic - While I don't want to much too much with magic, arcane spell casting will be based on Lovecraftian styles - Book in hand, reading out of the tome. Divine casters will need to be able to channel their faith directly and RP will be based less flashy magical effects. Note: All religions are welcome and are expected to be played respectfully
We will be running an intro campaign for levels 1-4 to prepare the party to enter into Curse of Strahd proper. It is unlikely to be "Death House".
Why not use CoC or Savage Worlds or Kids on Bikes or... or.. ?
The short answer is this: easy combat for me to adjudicate while streaming. I am very familiar with the DDB tools, I'm comfortable with putting them on stream, I'm familiar with the adventure as written for DND5E and I feel most at home in this setting. However I wanted to have room for the RP and characters of the 1918/ Lovecraftian theme so we're going to "make it work, people". I understand that not all are interested in the octagonal peg going into the round hole but that's where I'm at.
Preference in Casting/ Seats:
I would like to feature a diverse cast and am open to all members of the LGBTQ+ community. As this game will be streamed on my channel I am also looking for those with some form of content creation experience, camera and mic discipline and other relevant skills. At this time I am not planning cosplay streams but I'm not adverse to it if the party wishes it.
I'm looking for a group. I'm 30 years old and a proud asexual. I've been playing dnd for a at least 15 years. I made a great character and would love to get her off the ground for growth.
We have a possible open seat so I'm posting here to mention that and invite anyone interested to reach out. Again, this is a streamed game (regular shows) so I do ask that you have a decent cam/ mic and some openness to the chat second guessing everything any of us does.

This sounds so awesome. My discord is June1897#8981. I am 25, female lesbian. And have a decent camera and mic.
If you’re still looking for players, I’m GayEnby#6562 on discord! I have a good camera and ok mic!

Thanks for the interest so far. I'll reach out as I can over the coming days and welcome additional applications in case things don't pan out.
