I have been Dungeon Mastering for roughly 35 years and I currently run 4 campaigns a week ( its actually my job) for a new generation of gamers learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons. Since COVID I have not had much in the way of peer interactions and do not have much of a social life outside of my work.  I work for 2 hours a day at 4pm PST but have all day to do prep and stare out my window as the world passes me by ( okay a little dramatic but you get the idea)

I have a campaign world that I have been filling with wonderful stories for about 3 years now and its coming along nicely. I would love to expand it more but I am hoping to find some players closer to my age than my current campaigns.

Criteria : Prefer newish players who are looking for great storytelling, character building, role play opportunities and a slower pace. I am an amazing DM ( Its okay to be confident people ) with an eye to story and descriptive narratives and characters. Inspiration for my campaigns are drawn from my childhood exposure to movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings,and all sorts of cartoons. I have played an insane amount of RPG game systems so I have no shortage of inspiration.

I am hoping to find a group of kind and patient players who want to jump into DnD for the first time ( or again first time'ish) and get whisked away on a fun filled campaign ( no end just keep going as long as we can ).

I use DnD Beyond to handle all the heavy lifting ie. Character sheets and die rolling and I use Discord to broadcast my tabletop with miniatures and actual sets . Here is an example of some of my game sets.

Here is my campaign World as I currently have it mapped out. Lots of names and some lore but open to great ideas from players!

Hey Dwayne, I'm a new-ish player to DnD, and a very new player when it comes to playing online. You're mini's and game sets look awesome and I'd love to join a group of yours. I'm 25 years old (hope that's not too young), but I like to consider myself a very mature player. hmu if you still have space in a group!

How did you see my minis and sets?I am thinking that I would like a casual smaller type game < ongoing> that moves at a modest pace. I am running out of time in my life and am looking at morning/early afternoon slots for maybe 2 hours a session versus the longer style....weekly basis. I currently run 5 campaigns already ( I do this for a living) so Mornings are the best for me .

I’d be interested and may be a close fit peer group wise. I turn 50 this summer. I haven’t played table top since my teens and even then spent more time reading PHB and MM then actually playing. Grew up with many of the same influences (must of read LOTR 4 times growing up!) Scratched the itch over the years with CRPGs and SWTOR MMO. Recently been reading up on 5e and would love to get reacquainted with the game with an experienced dm.

how does weekday mornings look for you?

I am on the west coast and was thinking 9:30-10:00am in the morning for an hour or two each week ( maybe multiple times a week if we have the energy?) I literally only work 2 hours a day at 4:00pm each day. My days are empty and I would love to have a reason to get up and start my day everyday...

so it looks like it is gonna land on Wednesday 9:30-11:30 PST to start....My goal is a pretty casual slow and steady pacing game. I find that these days players and DM's put a lot of focus on moving quickly through an adventure and not taking  time to enjoy the game and the world.  Combat is meaningful ( I use a Permadeath rule meaning if  you get killed because of hubris or cockiness then your death saves are gonna be your only chance for survival) and I also don't reveal HP in the moment to moment combat). I like players to invest in their characters and in the story so everyone can enjoy the game ( I dont run murder sims and I love emersing the players in the game)

I'm 48 so I imagine we watched a lot of the same movies and cartoons, though you never know, there could be some regional differences.
