The kingdom of Arlia had enjoyed peace for decades under the former Emperor and Empress. Then, the kingdom to the North East, Novolenca, sent mage assassins to slaughter the rulers. Following the regicide, the son, Prince Aikka, invoked a ban on magic, shutting down the schools of the arcane and ensuring magic practitioners are not Novolenca sympathizer. Archaic masters who show signs of Novolenca influence are sent to Sage's Keep, a prison which is said to be both a reformation center for those affected by Novolenca without knowing it and a holding location for those who are true agents of Novolenca. Following an incident and brief trial at the Royal Court, you have been sent to Sage's Keep to be held until further notice. What secrets does Sage's Keep hold? Will you remain until your sentencing is over, will you break out and free yourself, or will something more sinister occur?
Additional Information: this will use the Sanity stat, a customized Hero Point system, Lingering Wounds, and the Gritty Realism rules from the DMG. There will also be a few homebrew magic rules/skills to allow for more versatility and customization.
