Characters don't have to support the rebellion, but the story relies on your willingness to fight against Imperials. The game features a decent mix of roleplay and combat, roughly one-two combat encounters a session, although we may have the occasional session that features no combat at all.
I heavily advise not deciding to bring a Jedi character to the game, although I won't disallow it - the power balance of Jedi compared to the non-force classes can get pretty goofy as levels go up and the period we're in has a heavy, heavy focus on the obliteration of any Jedi references. If you're still interested in the force then we can go over options during character creation.
