Greetings and salutations fellow D&D enthusiasts! I am looking for a 4th player to add to our play-by-post group. The campaign I am running currently should end somewhere between 2-4 months and I am using this time to develop a deeply character oriented, homebrew campaign based on the short history and adventure blurb below. I have been DMing for close to 30 years now and our group is very mature and respectful of each other. I ask the same of anyone interested in joining in our fun. We aren't into powergaming or breaking any molds, but we do enjoy a ton of RP and challenging combat situations. I appreciate joke builds and silly concepts - this campaign will have more than its fair share of laughter - but: Roleplay in my campaigns tend to lean towards towards drama and the darker nature of things. If you're looking for a campaign that will lean into ridiculousness, this might not be for you.
The events involving the insidious Tomb of Annihilation set into motion an unprecedented change in behavior like never seen before. The very notion that a single, nefarious wizard created something so evil that affected the entire world shook Toril to its core. Arcane magic was outlawed in many places, following the fall of the world-wide struggle. What came next was even worse – The War of Silence. The War of Silence lasted every bit of 44 years, but was anything but silent. The outlaw of Arcane magic divided nations and quickly made enemies where fast friendships were bonded before. Tensions rose to a boiling point and spells became the instrument of conversation. Many nations turned to their gods and divine casters to protect themselves from the people fighting to keep arcane magic a normal part of society. The upheaval and strife this goal to “silence the mages” caused will never be forgotten. The land is scarred where massive battles were waged and the country of Thay has become a haven for all things arcane. Surrounding countries aid Thay in the fight to set things right; these countries include Vaasa, Damara, Impultur, Narfell, Thesk and Aglarond. Battles are still waged on their borders, though much of the open fighting has come to a stop for many years now. By Dale Reckoning, the year is 1542. Despite the War of Silence, and the rise of The Divine Sanction, an order devoted to purging the lands of arcane power, the illegal art still remains in great number. The goddess Mystra and her faithful Azuth seem to have stepped into the background in this time of desperate need for their followers. If they are listening, it is not apparent.
This adventure begins in Sembia, a nation situated firmly on the border of the Sanction's reach and the rebelling nations. Things have been quiet in Selgaunt, as the Scepters were quick to enforce the Sanction's demands without question and haven't let up since. Rumors speak of a rising conspiracy to overthrow the Sanction. Those same whispers say that the Old Sage himself, Elminster Aumar, still lives and is behind the coming storm. Officials claim these rumors to be propaganda created by rebels, but something has occurred that cannot be overlooked or swept under the rug as heresay. A floating globule has appeared over the Sea of Fallen Stars on the southeastern horizon from Selgaunt. The anomaly is about the size of a coin when viewed with the naked eye, but anyone with a spyglass can see it plainly for what it appears to be. Street chatter identifies the thing as a bubbling mass of water, thousands of feet in diameter. Gossip and tales have spread and grown like wildfire in the city. Officials have tried to calm Selgaunt's citizens to no avail, so a charter was put in place to call for help.
Hello, I am an elementary school teacher/cosplayer and patient with new players as well as respectful of all types of people.
I LOVE wizards dungeons and dragons novels and very heavily involved in RA Salvatore and Ed Greenwood lore (among many others.) It's my obsession and fuels the fires of my characters.
I would need either a Sunday, Monday, or Wednesday evening EST game. I hope to play a Paladin of Vengence
Please PM me for my discord address.
I hope to hear from you!
I am familiar and able to play through Discord/Roll20/OwlBear and others (very techy as I taught virtually all through COVID.
I'm Amber (33), and I've been doing play by post rp'ing for about 20 years now, and dnd specifically for about three. Your campaign sounds super interesting (character-oriented campaigns are my jam!), and I love that y'all lean towards drama! I would love to join, if you'll have me. A play-by-post game works really well for my schedule because I can post often, but I don't have set times of availability. I am happy to come up with a character concept here or provide a sample of my writing should you require it. I can also provide my discord tag, though I'd prefer not to post it right here in the forum.

Hi I’m interested in joining however I am under 18
I'm fairly new to dnd
also how would we play online or face to face
and if online what would we use to call each other
and what days would the sessions be on as well as time
Sounds interesting, I would like to know the times of the roleplay though.
The campaign is play-by-post, so it doesn't have a set time. The platform we use is Discord, aided by map snippets, edited from Photoshop.
