Hello! I'm looking for 1-3 players for my high fantasy homebrew campaign. I am running 2 groups both taking place in the same setting with the same beginning arc with some slight changes and possibly even crossover sessions. We will be streaming on Twitch, and possibly YouTube & TikTok, webcams are NOT necessary but a good mic and strong internet connection are needed.

A little about myself, I've been DMing for about 2.5 years and I've run about ~65 sessions over the course of about 3 homebrew campaigns. I wanted to change things up though and focus on a more story driven setting. I love Role-playing and taking on the personality of a character. I also love having an emotional impact on my players and I find the best way to do that is through comedy, and hardship. Nothing makes you care more than a laugh or a good cry.

I've already had about 50 applicants submit through my other posts on reddit and have formed two groups of 6 but 3 of the Sunday people were not able to play, thus we're looking for a few more people. We are reviewing past applicants as well if you have already applied. The google form will be up for few days. After the form is closed, I will contact the people who made it in through invite them to the discord and we will set up times for a session 0/1. It's looking to be around 7:30+ishEST on Sundays.

Below will be a brief explanation of the setting with more in the application.

On July 16 1945 the first nuclear test occurred, known as Trinity. In the wake of the explosion the universe thinned and shattered the space between our realities and from the gash between planes so did spill a universe; a plane all to its own. But with the formation of something new, it left two universes ripped apart, left in all but a husk of their former selves.

Life now rewritten, the former universe continued its war, lost as ever; the latter was never the same, a golden era usurped and a power never to be seen again. For the beings of the new plane, history had just started but they did not forget where they once were, or what they had left behind.

Nearly 80 years have gone by since the forming of the new planet. The society that has developed is one divided. Due to the blend of Universes most land masses were originally fully integrated with humans and the Merrikees but after a few quick and bloody scuffles an uneasy balance rose between the two people. Tensions rose and sank over the next near centaury but a uneasy peace rose between the people; as harshness of their new planet demanded cooperation. Terrakess was a very different place than both Earth and Merrikess and neither people were preapared. Most of the earth from Earth came from Central & North America and the South Pacific where most of the nuclear testing took place, but due to the radical nature of creation people where taken from all over the world. This applied to Merrikees as well, but to a much more dramatic effect due to Merrikees' population being less spread out but much more dense & diverse. While a lot of the populace from Merrikees came over, more so the creatures and magic of Merrikees now inhabit Terrakees. Most of the cities from Merrikess were protected by ancient wards, walls and warriors, but with the reintegration they were lucky if their wares came with them, let alone their homes. Their were many cases of houses and families becoming intertwined, some even biologically.

WHERE TO START:

The best lore is the stories we make along the way, and even the ones we make up after. Based on the setting feel free make up your backstory to whatever degree you feel comfortable, For Example. I'm a Tabaxi from the jungles is fine but you can get detailed too and say I was born in 1963, in Jersey city New Jersey but it certainly wasn't the one my parents grew up in.

Their are a few things that are essential, you are in debt either finically, favor-wise, emotionally, or what have you and you end up on the Queens' Gambit heading towards Kingfisher Shores.

Here are some examples you can use:

-A local ruler has sold you as a labor on the Queens' Gambit heading toward the Kingfisher Shores

-Your local ruler has asked you to investigate a mysterious black cube that has appeared off the coast of Kingfisher Shores

-You are a stowaway on the Queens' Gambit, unsure where it is headed

-You are working under Captain Finnegan on the Queens' Gambit

-You've been taken prisoner by the local municipality and sold off as folder for the King/Queens suicide mission

-You are an explorer/adventurer/journeymen and have heard of the Local Rulers interest in the Kingfishers Shores, taking matters into your own hands you've charted yourself a vessel and a crew.

-You're a local of Kingfisher who left the island years ago. Seeing an opportunity to see your family again you've decided to join the crew.

Or something to this degree, feel free to make up your own backstory as long as you end up on the Queens Gambit with a purpose.
