I am looking for a group of role play focused adventurers to join me in the beginner friendly Lost Mine of Phandelver.
I am looking for players that enjoy the relationship building, storytelling, and wonder of discovery playing the game through RP. Players who like to ask questions of each other in character, and flesh out their personality through actions and conversations in game. No voices necessary, just a perspective and the will to play while looking through it. If you're new to DnD that's perfectly fine!
I am the type of DM who loves to reward character building, I never forget about inspiration, and my absolute favorite thing is to weave my players secrets and personal storylines into the larger world we occupy together. For me, DnD is about the story, the conflict (both interpersonal and combative) and exploring a new reality together. I love a balanced homebrew item when it fits the character/situation and will be excited to chat with you about all your ideas for the character you're playing.
Looking for a Sunday afternoon game with the last Sunday of every month off. Session zero May 8th with the first game on the 15th. Ideal times for sessions are 12 - 4pm US Pacific Time.
If this sounds like a game you'd be into joining. Drop the standard info below:

Hi there, I'm very interested in joining your campaign. I haven't played much of dnd but I'm very researched and am able to create characters myself. I really enjoy dnd and hope to play :)
1.My time zone is Eastern Daylight Time. 2. I was thinking of making a human ranger, but honestly, I'm down for whatever. 3. I played 1 session and that session was a hot mess, but I have done a moderated amount of time learning to play. 4. I love roleplay and making relationships with npc's, mysteries are cool too.

(ps. I was hoping if we could talk about the video, I'm all good with voice but a little uncomfy with showing my face)
I have so many character ideas running around in this brain of mine. But I believe the basis of an idea that I am most excited about is a Fire Genasi Fighter.
I am currently running through a campaign as a first time DM as I was really looking for the opportunity to engage in DnD but wasn't able to find a place to join as a player.
I absolutely love the creativity that DnD requires, and I especially love that that creativity can mean different things to each player and DM!

Pronouns are she/her. And I am super excited about getting to play. Hope to hear from you soon!
I have a few ideas (Gloom Stalker Ranger or Scout Fighter), but I'm happy to adjust based on where the interest of the other players lands.
None yet. I'm very interested but haven't played before.
I like the idea of finding out where the story goes and the organic nature of the teamwork and solutions.

I understand this may disqualify me, but I would not be able to make the first session due to Mother's Day on the 8th. If that's not a deal-breaker, I'd love to join.
OOOOO mothers day..... ooops, yeah maybe that's due to be rearranged then. Thanks for brining this to my attention. I'll reach out to everyone individually in the next day or so to start chatting.
So, so many. I have old characters who never got to finish their stories to new ideas over the years. Right now top 3 would be Conan type barbarian (wants to explore and discover civilisation as much as adventuring), monk who wants to prove his skills adventuring, or the reluctant warlock (tricked by an evil entity).
Haven't played in a long time (decades). But I first played the original D&D thru AD&D extensively. After that mostly other RPG systems.
For me it's about the story and RP. Love when my PC connects with another whether friendly rivalry or share a common goal.

In short I'm a veteran who realizes he's practically a newbie again. I'm sure I'll get back into the groove again. Not really interested in a "evil" campaign but I'm fine with a group that is shady, ie mercenaries not murderhobos.
GMT (That's PT+8 hours. Running late won't be an issue for me)
I have lots of character ideas! I've played a few characters whose backstories I haven't been able to explore due to the sessions petering off so i'd be psyched to revive one. The ones that come to mind are a Circle of the Stars Druid who's an astronamer, something of a hermit whose mentor died in mysterious circumstances. Another is a Leonin Ranger whose family was lost to him when he took the wrong turn in a forest and skipped through time. And many more!
I've played off and on for a few years now. I've DM'd a couple of campaigns, the last of which was homebrew.
Exploring characters and weaving stories is the most interesting thing for me. Combat is a lot of fun but it's most fun when it's driven by character choices and motivation.
1. Hello, my time zone is Mexican Pacific Standard Time, I'm free every sunday since it's my main day off.
2. I've been fixated on playing this tiefling warlock character I've made with a tragic past (because we all have at some point), or any other character honestly. I'm open to ideas and have others made and ready to go.
3. I've played a full campaign, a couple one shots, and started another campaign that only lasted two or three sessions because unfortunately my DM (and good friend) got too busy. I haven't played for a year and a half so I'm rusty. I should mention that the first campaign I mentioned was Phandelver but every DM runs it differently and since it was my first, it has a special place in my heart.
4. I love roleplay. I think it's more interesting when, for example, someone plays a barbarian and only rages when actually mad. Makes it seem authentic. It adds a little spice.
Honestly, I'm pretty versatile with class/character. Ideally, I'd just see what the party needed and fill that role. Bard and Barbarian are my favorite
Lots of face-to-face experience, but none online. Hoping a group will be graceful as I stumble through the tech part for a session or two. I will bring it with the roleplay, however.
First, the storytelling aspect. Combat is all well and good, but I lean hard into the roleplay. Second, the camaraderie it creates. It's like we become a party in real life, too, even if it's only once a week.
2. I've got a concept for an old fisherman warlock who hooked something he really shouldn't have and caught the eye of something from beyond. I also have a halfling sniper rogue and a Tiefling warlock of the fiend whose patron is basically her aunt. I also have a few ideas kicking around for a gnome barbarian.
3. I have a bit of experience, I am not a veteran by any means but I have played 3 or 4 times before
4. I really like getting into character and roleplaying with the DM and other players. And I love roleplaying during and about combat.
First of all I wanna say I'm from EU, Italy to be precise. English should not be a problem, i like to think of myself as a fluent speaker but haven't actually had the chance to speak a lot of it in a while.
1. CEST (PT +9) 2. I have a bunch in my mind but I was thinking about a tiefling multiclass druid/barbarian that I wanted to play for a while. But honestly, I'm down to fill, balanced parties are way more fun. 3. I have been playing 5e for a while in person with some friends but want to play more. Never played online tho, so i'm not super familiar with roll20 or d&dbeyond. But yeah, very familiar with rules and everything cause I love to read the manuals in my free time. 4. ROLEPLAY. I love my irl friends and the games we run but they tend to not get into roleplay a lot, the main focus is solving puzzles and fighting. Which I am down for but it leaves me craving for some proper rp. For instance, we never ever had a moment in which our characters sat down and tried to get to know eachother. 5. lodagin#9862
Well met potential DM of tales spun. Mother`s Day is on the 8th so I cannot play then, however I can make any other Sunday as it`s my designated D&D day.
1. PST
2. Vincent Frost, a human shadow sorcerer. As a child he wandered into the "Old haunted house" that everyone in his village avoided and stumbled into a portal to the shadowfell. While there he met a shadar-kai who trained him to control the "taint" of the shadow realm, and knowing that the young Vincent did not belong in this realm finally sent him to his home realm. When Vincent arrived back to Faerun the world had moved many, many years forward and Vincent had no one he recognized in his home world. With his control over his sorcerer`s powers he searches for adventure and ways to use his gifts to help those in peril.
3. I have been playing TTRPGs IRL for many years but only recently got the books for Christmas 2021 and have been playing on Roll20 and Discord since February in a couple of games. I recently finished my Sunday game and need my fix for RP.
4. I really enjoy games that have a decent pace to the story, and love starting at low levels as watching character groups develop and grow to rely on one another( cuz at lower levels you kind of need to), I also love exploring, combat, and ROLE-PLAYING(very important).
Seems like you have a lot of interest in this but I figured I'd shoot my shot anyway. My time zone is EST, 3-7ish works perfectly for me. I am 30* (edited to say 30 not 20!) nonbinary/AFAB if that matters & I have been playing and running for about 5 years now, mostly 5e.
A character idea that captivates me would be playing a half-orc, because this setting is very not friendly to orcs. I think maybe a half-orc that was a part of a peaceful clan that got attacked my mercenaries or adventurers but they were very young and spared and taken to the city to probably stay in a temple, I was thinking of them as a monk / a more focused fighter type.
My favorite thing about d&d is definitely the roleplaying and interpersonal character dynamics of the party! I also really like character growth and being introspective of all my character's choices.
2. Frug Nackle, the forest gnome wizard recently driven out of seclusion upon receiving news regarding the source of his exile( : over 50 years ago now he was a tutor for a wealthy noble family. The position gave him great joy until he was wrongly accused of murdering his pupils. He reasoned that flight was his only salvation, and the only way to one day uncover the truth). Despite the troubles of his past, his positive outlook on life is borderline disgusting, and if it weren't for the clear signs of a powerful intellect you'd figure he was clueless about how insulting he can be at times, all in the name of wit, humour, and not taking life too seriously--a fine gnomish coping mechanism for a haunted past. When confronted regarding his rudeness, he tends to chuckle and squeal with delight, responding that "it can't be helped, thus I strive to be more useful than annoying!"
3. I'm a rusty D&D old timer, brought back into the fold now that my kids are eager to play, and I'm more than happy to DM around.
4. I love developing a character with fellow players and a DM throughout a campaign. If all goes well with this group with the Lost Mine, I think it'd be great to jump into another module together with the same characters--maybe Hoard of the Dragon Queen?
Hi! Thank you all for the influx of responses today. This game is currently full and starting on the 15th. I am keeping the post up in case that somehow changes. I really appreciate all of the thoughtful responses. Hope you all are well!

I totally agree, SuperQ, it makes the team aspect more realistic instead of just the characters shoved together for some purpose or other

Hey there, I've been looking to join as a player for some time, and very into character building and RP.
1) I'd be playing on central time
2) I very much would like to make a bladesinger or fighter/ blade singer if we got high enough in levels.
3) I have some decent experience. played in a few other games and am currently running a game monthly.
4) character building and RP
