It is 1096 Anno Domini. King Raymond IV of Toulouse has seized Jerusalem and has brought the Holy Land into the hand of the Christians. He has hired a group of adventurers and bounty hunters to recover holy relics such as fragments of the True Cross and the legendary Holy Grail.
Welcome to my campaign. I’ll keep it short to save your time.
This is an extremely low-fantasy campaign where magic-users are extremely rare and monsters are hidden in the shadows. Be prepared for a Indiana Jones style goose chase as you search for these holy relics.
To maintain historical verisimilitude, I’ve restricted some of the character options: - Humans only; an elf, dwarf, etc. are fey creatures hidden in folk lore - Male characters only, unless you are a female player; female adventurers were extremely rare - All official WOTC classes allowed but magical abilities will be reflavored (more about that when we talk) - No multiclassing, lucky, or find familiar
We will be using Roll20 to play and discord for voice and music. We will have our first session next week. Character sheets must be made on Roll20. House rules include: - Some armor names and weapons have been altered to fit the historical time period - Resurrection magic does not exist - Gritty realism rules for resting - Variant encumbrance - Lingering injuries
