LFP: 1-2 more for game in homebrew setting

Hey everyone, I am an experienced DM and trained voice actor looking for 1-2 players to join a longer term campaign in my homebrew setting of Hydare. We have not yet had our session zero but would be interested in doing so soon. You all would start at level 4, and I allow almost all published content with one or two exceptions and some things with flavor changes.

Before and after session zero I like to chat with players fairly extensively about their character: usually this will happen first over text chat and then over VC and perhaps an rp character session 0.5. My goal is to have you feel like your character is truly a part of the world, and also to get a sense of what potential background tie ins could appear in the story to give each player character their own “backstory quest things” that they can be especially involved in. There is not a set plot, although I can certainly make arcs. Rather the world is designed to allow for whatever kinds of adventures draw the players more: political intrigue? Check. War? Check. Exploration? Check. ignoring politics? Check. Opening a successful bar? Check

A heads up that while I am a very experienced DM, I do not usually use Virtual table top maps with the exception of combat and some particularly complex exploration bits. I find it needlessly complicated

This sounds absolutely fantastic!! I (30, nonbinary, he/they) have been looking for a good game to play in with my girlfriend (30, cis-woman, she/her) since we are long distance (I'm in EST, she's mst) and this is one of our mutual hobbies. We met through role-playing over text last year and have nearly two dozen decades of experience with role-playing in general and over 5 years each with d&d - she even helps organize most of the D&D adventures league stuff for Colorado! We would love to find a roleplay focused game that cared about character development and tying our characters into the story. Fridays or Saturdays would work for us and we can be flexible with the time.

Hey this sounds like just what I've been looking for! I've been a player for 5 years in 5th edition and my favorite part of the game has always been really getting immersed in a new world. I've mostly played homebrew campaign and really prefer the creativity it brings out in Dms. I do my best to do voices as well and hope to bring my character Bruno Garmont to your group if you allow his unofficial paladin subclass. He is an oath of providence paladin which is divination based. But if not I can always roll up something new.

Hi, eighteen female here from England (though I’m happy to play whenever the games are, so time zones aren’t really a worry 🖤)! I’ve been a player now for just over a year and a half, though ‘player’ may not exactly be the right term considering I’ve only played in one very short-lived campaign about a year ago and have been desperate to play since. It was heavily combat-focused, which didn’t turn out to be my style, nor apparently the other players as the sessions often got pushed aside in favour of other activities, and several of the others wouldn’t really be paying their full attention, which I’m sure you know doesn’t really make for an incredibly fun game for those genuinely interested. I’d love to discuss my most recent character with you and chat through some of the bumps, as she’s heavily based on a homebrew sheet for the kitsune race and while I’m incredibly excited to play her, I don’t claim to be an expert on balanced race building and wouldn’t want to accidentally throw off the gameplay.
