Looking for a Text-Based D&D Group

I usually play with my small friend group, though because of everyone's different work times and availability it is really hard to get a session set up, and if we do it only lasts 2-3 hours max, which I don't mind as I still get to catch up with them etc. Though it would be nice to play some sessions every now and then with other people.

I looked online and found out there can be text-based sessions and thought to join in as it would be a lot easier and it lets me meet new people too, and potentially new friends. I have a Discord account and am willing to join a text D&D server, I am fine with any campaign except homebrew (I am very new to homebrew and I have heard a lot of bad stories about this type of game so I would like to stick to classics just to be safe). Preferably 5e, as I have never played the previous versions. 

 I was wondering if there are any DMs or groups looking for an extra player for a text-based game? I would prefer not to join any voice or video calls, as the text is something that would be easy and chill to do. Also because my phone's mic doesn't pick me up often and I have no access to a computer. Everything I do is on my phone.

Hey there! There's actually an entire forum for this on D&D Beyond. Go to Forums -> Play-By-Post -> the first post should be a 'Read Me First' -> a couple paragraphs down is a link to the page where groups are actively recruiting. There are fewer PbP games than online or face-to-face games, it seems, but check it out! You can always direct message one of the closed groups. Sometimes they have waiting lists that you can get on.
