So first off I am a newer player. I have experience with D&D through MUD's (multi user dungeons) and have the players hand book. I will be buying monster manual and DM Guide at some point. I also plan on getting a license to Foundry and already have a license for Inkarnate map maker. I have never DM a game but I want to learn and am willing to DM down the road. I'd like to build a group/server on discord where we can talk D&D, create worlds, and play in each others games. I think it would be cool to find a good group of people to play, learn and build together. We could all take turns running campaigns for one another and offer resources to one another. I can help build maps or whatever is needed.
I am interested in 5e and will do the leg work to learn. I just want to find down to earth players to play with. I don't want anyone's agenda pushed on me. I will not push mine hehe. (this recently happened to me) I live in Arizona and can play most evenings. I sell real estate, so days are a not good for me as my schedule can vary. Time zone is Arizona time, like mountain time but we don't have daylight savings.
Please feel free to add me on discord AIC4ME#8438
If you have ideas for the group, wanna play D&D, talk D&D, roll chars, or just design, then hit me up. Thanks for reading.
Hey there! Love the energy in your post. Here’s a bit about me:
I go by Shadoh and my pronouns are he/him and am a gay cis POC.
I live in the "city that forgot to care," New Orleans with my husband and four furbabies. I'm a hobbyist photographer, just got my first telescope (Eeeek!), and I enjoy playing all sorts of games. Like many nerds, the closet in my game room is filled with board and card games while the video games are in the entertainment center. And what kind of person would I be if I didn't have my lawn games stored on the patio? Here's a little more about my journey to writing this post:
Let’s go all the way back to second grade. My history teacher suggested a book for me about greek myths and it made a huge impact. It was a small green leather-bound tome and I was immediately enraptured with the characters and stories I met. It was here in this 60-odd-page book that I would discover a love of stories and by proxy, storytelling.
Because of this book, I saw my list of interests grow to include fantasy and science fiction, history, religion, philosophy, and the human condition. I found shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who could help me find my own idea of a moral compass while Terry Pratchett's Discworld series added to that worldview. Throughout my life, I've gone through the requisite "growing up" and I am living my absolute best life as a tour guide. I get to be a storyteller in a place where there is so much history, myths, and legend. How could I not be eventually inspired to tell tales of my own creation?
I've started putting together the pieces of what I hope is a future campaign I can run based on the mysteries of New Orleans. I was going to leave it open to any historical event, but the amateur historian in me wants to avoid affecting that where I can. So it'll include things like Pierre Lafitte's mysterious escape from the Cabildo's prison. There will be vampires and voodoo, gas lamps and carriages, Mardi Gras, Storyville, and more. I hope it'll be a fun and somewhat informative escapade for my players.
I got into D&D right at the beginning of the pandemic so finding an in-person group became impossible. No worries, I listened to podcasts like The Adventure Zone and Dungeons and Daddies. They were entertaining, and I got the gist, but I'm sure you know there's a difference between listening and doing something. Eventually, I found myself involved in two games. One was an Ebberon campaign but our group disbanded after our DM overdosed. After that, I joined a Star Wars campaign where I played a Kel Dorian Noble. In my final session, my character when off to search an NPCs closet for a Hoth-appropriate coat. I left him there and went on my honeymoon. When I got back, I found that the DM had alienated the group and no one wanted to continue, leaving me to pine for the Nightsisters I was promised.
So here I am continuing on my quest for a party to seek out adventures, battle monsters, and enjoy my free time with. I Like the idea of creating a small community of players to run one-shots and shorter campaigns, and once I finish my campaign, I'd be happy to swap places and run it. :)
My time zones Time zone and days: CST, off on Tues/Wed, but I'm home by 7 pm every day so can play in the evenings.

I am Trucker and on the road alot. However, I have a gaming laptop n hotspot and wish to play D&D. I am a gamer (Rust, Eve online, World of Tanks, etc.) so know the in-n-outs of Discord, Mumble and Teamspeak communication. I have been researching, which means pushing all the buttons, D&D Beyond and Roll20. Overall, looking for chill group to learn the ropes.
