However, you carry your character through these worlds.
Progression is a session tally basis. Each session you participate in grants you one session progression, and at certain session progressions you get a level.
Now what's actually going on?
The overarching storyline that connects all of the worlds and universes together is that the multiverse is collapsing. Why is that? While no one knows for sure, we do know that all previously known deities have disappeared or been confirmed dead. Same with quite a few well known powerful beings, such as Strahd. With this disruption the cosmos has begun to teleport various creatures and characters through the multiverse in what has become known as magenta-ing, a name given for the puff of magenta smoke one disappears into and reappears from.

You magenta for the first time into something known as the Upside Down Colosseum during what the announcer is calling a special pandemonium event. "What's a pandemonium event, I hear our new guests asking! Why, it's when you enter into the arena while entering this space!" Unknown about what exactly is going on in this world, you are suddenly now thrust into a situation where you must battle to the end. Hopefully there's a reward at the end of this trial by fire....
This is a game for levels 1-4 and is slated to be a reoccurring one shot.
Hey, my brother (31M) and I (24M) are looking for a group that wants to have fun while learning the game. We're both quite new but have a lot of experience with board games/gaming and tend to learn quite quickly. Also the type of people to sacrifice a little optimisation for good RP and are mostly focused on enjoying our deep dive into D&D while (hopefully) making some new friends along the way! :)
