I've played D&D for years on and off, have never played online but really want to as I live in the frozen North! I'm looking for some people to play with who I can eventually DM for. I'm a former radio host and voice actor and I would like to stream a game someday. But first, I have no idea how to play online - I have a Avrae Discord Bot account and a couple characters on the DnD Beyond free version. Help?
Hey, I play with a pretty casual group in a westmarch style campaign, so players are free to pick and choose what days they want to play. It's over discord and we're always looking for new players. Does it sound interesting to you?
I know it wasn't my question, but I found this thread while looking to see if how our lives work would have any hope of playing a campaign again. My husband and I used to play all the time before there were minions to contend with, we haven't been able to play in years and I was wondering if you could explain a bit more about how the westmarch style game works? From what I learned with a quick google search it seems like we could actually feasible participate in a game like that. I am not presuming an invitation to yalls campaign, only wish to know more about the game style so if it is what it sounds like, we can indeed seek such a campaign out in earnest.
Sure thing. Well, I suppose first thing to do (if you willing) would be to download Discord on your computer. I'll leave my username for Discord here so we can communicate a little easier through there.
To tell you the truth it's not an exact westmarch server in the strected sense, but something more of a hybrid between the former and a more traditional style of d&d game. It's not run and active 24/7 since there is still just one centralized DM at the moment, but players are free to sign up for whatever sessions are convenient for their schedule. The world's story continues to get told regardless of how active any one individual since other people fill out and play in the adventures. There's also chat threads open amd available for RP as well so characters can interract outside of DM run sessions.
That's the jist of it, but if you're interested in knowing some finer details you're welcome to contact me over Discord. My username was posted in the previous reply.
Oh I am totally on Discord, but since we do not share a server, I have no way to DM you as we are not 'friends' on Discord either. I'm LadyK/Hummingbird#5769 in case I do figure out how to ping you.

I’ve never played before and don’t have a campaign or use discord, but am interested in learning through a simple game
