I am an experienced Dm from multiple games. I have a group that was planned to start last week but real life setbacks caused several people to drop. That said we have 4 players and are looking for two or three more. The campaign is as follows.
World is set in Exandria. We are using the map and pantheon. Everything else is a new story.
My Dm style is centered on player interaction with a 60/40 split between RP/Combat. I believe in player freedom and not allowing plot armor to get in the way of a developing story. If you can do it (Within reason) and the dice agree we can talk. I run a session zero with each player which is a one on one where we flush out your backstory/motivations so you have a clear path in the world.
You will be making a new character and starting at lvl 1. I am open to your character concept ideas and can work with you to fit the world.
Game time at the moment is set weekly for Thursday 7:30pm EST to 11pm EST.
I am looking for committed players who are in for the long haul. This will not be a short campaign. Looking for players who are here to have fun and not focus on trivial nonsense. Sense of humor is a must. (18+)
We will be using D&D Beyond with resources to share as well as Discord and Roll20
Please fill out the following if you are interested:
Discord: NCFishboy#9875 Jeff, 46, male, east coast US
Experience: played in the late 80s/early 90s, and about a year and a half of 5e, trying to get back into it and find a regular group
Availability: evenings after 6pm eastern except Wednesday and Saturday
Character concept: Since this is an established group I am willing to fill spots as needed. I have been wanting to play a circle of the moon druid for a while but those campaigns didn't last more than a two sessions. Depending on race availability a loxodon, water genasi, gnome or half elf. I also enjoy playing frontline fighters or paladins, typically dwarf. I always enjoy being a team player and working together, combat is my favorite part but creativity in RP is growing on me. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Experience: I've been playing 5e specifically since about 2017ish?
Availability: Everyday minus sunday from 8am to 12am
Character concept: I'm generally able to fit concepts into most setting, and like to work with the DM to make a general idea fit. I want to play a mercenary who's company was contracted to participate in a campaign/extermination/bodyguard some noble and ended up getting wiped out to the last man as far as he knows, save him and any other individuals who were fished out by their enemies, scavengers, etc (if any). He wants to look for anyone that survived if possible and re-establish his company. I'm probably going to play him as either an armorer artificer or some kind of fighter more than likely.
Experience: Oh, that is a question that would age me!! Let's just say that I'm vastly experienced in 2E & 5E. I started playing once again during the pandemic and my inner nerd has once again become unleashed.
Availability: My availability meets the requirement you are seeking.
Character concept: I honestly love developing my character with my DM's. Two of my recent favorites include a human life domain cleric of Lathandar was turned to a trickster cleric of Mask by a deal with the devil and a kenku monk who became the mother hen for a silver dragon egg. I'd love the opportunity to speak with you and see if this could be a perfect fit.
I have played dnd, starting with v3.5, since I was 11. I'm currently 21. I have been both a player and a dm, but I prefer to be a player which makes it difficult to find games.
I'm available all day everyday unless something catastrophic happens. If I won't be available for any reason I usually have a few days heads up.
I have a few character ideas, some are simple, some less so. My three favorite are the paladin who's code is his own convictions, the rogue with short patience, and the monk who's dedicated to perfecting his mind and body. There's more to all three, and I'll share if you're interested.
A paladin that was taken in the church at a young age and his soul gole is to prove he can protect and support people that needs it from the evil of the world
Experience: Been playing on and off for the better of two years, both all the basic books. I need had a campaign I joined stick so I would love that! I also consume a lot of DnD Content online.
Availability: Everyday of the week, mostly evenings if possible.
Character concept: I've always played either paladins or clerics to fill in that one slot of the party that needs a healer. I love playing paladins and clerics don't get me wrong, I am that guy that will fill in the slots of a party and try to complement it but I am thinking of this at the moment.
A Tabaxi rogue in his late twenties that was born into a rich family and got bored of it and broke out one day in the middle of the night to begin a life of adventure but it didn't work out and got himself mix up with thieves and bandits and is now trying to do better. That is what I am working on at the moment. The other would be a roguish archetype that trained his whole life to battle mages and wizards (Like Travis's character in Calamity of Critical Role).
Experience: 5e for about 4 years TRPGS in total for about 7 years.
Availability: weekdays after 6 CST and Sundays usually.
Character concept: I am comfortable with all classes but have two ideas in mind. One is a tool using blood hunter if allowed. Other is a wizard that focus on utility. Willing to mold the character around the world.
Experience: I've been playing 5E pretty consistently since 2015
Availability: I'm in Eastern US Time, and am available pretty much any evening starting around 7pm including weekends. I'll be unavailable Sept 1-4, but no other planned absences until Thanksgiving
Character concept: I'm pretty flexible with what I play. I haven't had a chance to play a Rogue in a full campaign, so I wouldn't mind giving that a try(probably Phantom, Soulknife or Scout depending on what fits best). I've also gotten pretty comfortable playing a tank, and when I do I love playing a Goliath(but NOT a Grog copycat). When it comes to spellcasters, I've always had a soft spot for Warlocks, particularly Archfey. Though I did have a fun Shadar-Kai Hexblade in a campaign that was sadly cut short, I'd love another crack at him someday. If it's an archer that's needed, I recently got into Rangers and would love to try the new Beastmaster options from Tasha's.
Experience: About 7 years of experience playing 5th edition across online and in person, I enjoy the rules of dnd and probably known 70% of all spells by heart, I absolutely love casters. By technical definitions, I am a rules lawyer, but only in the pursuit of fun for the players and I always respect the DM's time and rulings, as long as they don't maliciously target another player personally.
Availability: Thursdays at 7:30pm EST is a very available time for me, though with enough notice i could transition to the same time on another weekday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I can sometimes be unavailable but I would have many weeks notice in advance for those absences. Early mornings would likely be hard to pull off, but there's a possibility.
Character concept: I have had my heart set on a tome pact genie warlock for quite some time, the mix of fun utility features with the burst makes me think it would be effective in combat. I've played a warlock before but didn't get the opportunity to lean into the roleplay aspect of the class. I'm very flexible to have the character mesh with the world and goals of the other party members, but I imagine an upcoming Sage/Scholar, interested on following the path similar to wizardry or artifice, only to lean his focus on the history of the arcane and starts to pursue older, more ancient forms of magic, leading to the discovery and pact with his patron. I'd prefer to work with a bare bones idea then shape it to something more fitting for your world and plot if that works. Should other factors play into the difficulty of that character concept, I have a Mastermind Rouge and Circle of the Land Druid on the backburner.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to discussing more with you in the future.
