Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Roll20, Discord - Voice) Experience: Veteran DM Location/Timezone: Saturday 1:00 P.M. EST Biweekly, Normally 3-4 hour sessions with occasional Schedule: 1:00 P.M. EST Saturdays Biweekly, you first session would be September 10th Roles sought: Player, 1 or 2 players Game style: Heavy Roleplay, healthy mix of combat
I am currently running a homebrew world and you will encounter occasional homebrew creatures or changed stats. Roleplay heavy game with 5 players currently. I'm hoping to add one or two more to add to the mix. We have some sessions that can run longer and I will try to give notice when I want to run a long session (they can last upwards to 8 hours so far). Newer players are fine but you will need to study before getting into the sessions the basics. We need backstories that run longer in the campaign as your backstory will be linked to the the story and will also lead to your characters growth.
Any stories that do not introduce NPC's and real history for me to use will not be considered unfortunately. We are very heavy into roleplay and character development. There are villains, plots, dungeons, and so much more but it will be more fun if your story is tied into all of it.
Missing session is fine of course as long as you don't do it consistently. If you can't make most sessions please do not jump in - it can be jarring for the experience of others and its hard to work around last minute cancellations if I have a session that contains important story advances for your character. If the sound of extra long sessions occasionally or sometimes side sessions of just roleplay makes you happy, this may be what you are looking for. Plenty of times my players take a long rest or traveling for roleplay sessions.
I'd be interested in joining. Depending on what you provide for your homebrew rules or restrictions, I feel that I can easily develop a character with sufficient backstory to allow you room to maneuver. The session duration and recurrence are acceptable to me. There should not be reason for me to miss sessions unless something comes up out of my control.
About me: I started ages ago; have played most editions, and many many different gaming systems. My longest running and most collections of source books for D&D were from 3.5e. Since then I've taken a long break; friends move away, raising a family, maintaining a career.. but recently I've found more time on my hands and just began venturing into 5e. I'm looking for games that I can enjoy the RP and combat while having fun engaging in the story. I do stream to Twitch and prefer joining a group that is comfortable with this.
Open Questions: - Are there any class/race restrictions to your campaign? - What homebrew class/race can the characters use to create their characters? - What character level are you looking to start this new player in? - What is the current party composition now (race/class/level)? - General attitude/alignment/disposition of the group currently? - Do you stream your sessions? If so, where can we see your previous games? - Does your group have any objections to someone streaming the game? - Do you have content source books that you can share for character creation? If so, which?

My last game ended when my GM quit due to over extending himself into too many different groups and burnout. I played a Forge Cleric up to level 5 with some multiclassing involved. Willing to start a new game or jump into an already established one. I have quite a few different character concepts that can be developed accordingly.
Hey, lots of great questions. I'll do my best to answer below.
- Are there any class/race restrictions to your campaign? None at all. Homebrew races and classes must be reviewed by the entire group.
- What homebrew class/race can the characters use to create their characters? Anything that passes the groups review. If it doesn't pass we try to come up with alternatives to make it work. We have run into too many players that tried to join with classes that would outshine everyone so we are cautious.
- What character level are you looking to start this new player in? You would start at level 5 or 6.
- What is the current party composition now (race/class/level)? I'll give the classes for this question. We have a Wizard (scribe), Rogue (mastermind), Bloodhunter/rogue, Bard (Swords), Fighter (Gunslinger)
- General attitude/alignment/disposition of the group currently? Group is heavy roleplay. They are Chaotic/Selfish Good. Often the group seeks its own interests in the world but when presented with an option to do the right thing they will do it.
- Do you stream your sessions? If so, where can we see your previous games? I do not stream my sessions.
- Does your group have any objections to someone streaming the game? I have two players that were against it when I asked. They were afraid the game would be playing for others instead of for themselves.
- Do you have content source books that you can share for character creation? If so, which? I have all DNDbeyond sourcebooks that I share.
