I am the current DM of a small adventuring party, we lost some players to other commitments and are looking to find a few to add in. we are web based and use google hangouts for almost all conversation and we also use their video chat to run the campaign, it's all spoken word for now due to my school and work schedule, however if I found someone willing to play as some of the npcs and co-DM we could make the group even bigger. I'm a fan of storytelling and short combats, however the boss rounds will probably last 8+ rounds of combat as more of a teamwork and endurance based encounter. We don't worry too much about money or supplies and instead focus on what makes the story meaningful to each character.
Our current players are a Half-Elf Bard on the Dragon Bloodline path named Tia'afdar, and a Half-Dwarf Cleric following the teachings of Chord named Fraya, with our half-elf monk hopefully returning sometime later in the spring or in summer.
The players just hit level two, and you would start there too. Once we have moved to round two selection, I will send those people the world setup information and some of the story that has happened thus far, for now just looking for interested players.
About you:
1.) Willing to play without a strict alignment rule? (I'd rather your character make decisions based on who they are and who they've developed into, not whether or not it's lawful good or not.)
2.) Preferred role in an adventuring party
3.) Have you ever played DND? (doesn't really matter just helpful.
4.) Can you commit to 3-4 hours every other week on a set day that we schedule ahead of time? (Looking like friday night, probably 830-1230 CST)
5.) Can you handle spoken word DND until someone joins the group who can help with the visuals? (I try to be extremely descriptive when it comes to the important scenes. I've taken a few creative writing classes over the years so I have a decent way with words.)
6.) Are you interested in co-DMing? (You could only play the npcs, none of the actual adventuring characters, however you would have a large role in the world and maps involved, as well as someone I can bounce story ideas/ overarching plots. You also wouldn't necessarily have to be there for the whole time, though it would be best if you were.)
7.) What should I know about you to add you to my group?
Hi, I noticed that you are lacking in some visual things (according to the post), and I would like to help out if possible. I'm relatively new to D&D, and looking to expand my knowledge of how the game works before I join a campaign. Unfortunately I don't have time to play a character currently as I am currently a Veterinary student and don't get the pleasure of a large amount of regular free time. Let me know if you are interested!
1. Definitely okay with a fluid alignment rule, i think the game should be played in this way to allow for character growth and conflict.
2. Preferred role. I normally run a spellcaster (got a cool idea for a psychic class based off critical role) but would not be opposed to any class. I have a fighter in mind as well. Whatever the party needs i will fill in the gap. Also, i dont mind being a leader if needed.
3. Ive played 3.5, pathfinder and maybe 100 hours of 5e.
4. Yes i am commited but my schedule may not line up. Monday -friday i get off work at midnight eastern time so i could play 1230am-7am. Saturday and sunday are both pretty flexible. So if friday is going to be the day and everyone is willing to start 3 hours later (1230am est) that would be perfect.
I would be willing to join your group. I'm relatively new as well. The appointed time is fine with me. I recently made a tortle monk which I think is a good combo and I want to try it out. I played some campaigns with some friends in person and my go to is half orc barbarian (that never failed me).
I have a 3 Man Group looking a join a party one member is our former DM was looking to play I'm sure she'll be willing to help you the in light dming and one would possibly want to bring over a character from another game PM me and we can try to work something out
1.) Fluid alignment is one of my favorite ways to play.
2.) I have usually played a ranger or cleric in a party, but can fit about anywhere
3.) Me and D&D go way back. I started playing in AD&D and have been playing for about 20 years give or take.
4.) I am good with every other Friday. I am in EST however if that makes a difference to you. I can make the times you posted
5.) Spoken word D&D is fun. Lets your imagination run away with you.
6.) I have never co-DMed before, but I do have a lot of experience as a DM.
7.) I really like roleplaying in general. I am a fan of critical role and watching their performances has encouraged me to really settle into who my character is or who I want them to be. I think D&D should be fun and try to treat it as such.
1) I have never done something like this but it seems like a very interesting approach that will allow for all kinds of character development.
2) I am quite open minded when it comes to classes. I have been really wanting to try out the Bloodhunter class but I am also fine with spell caster classes.
3) I am still pretty new to DnD. I have been in a few 5e campaigns but they were pretty shortlived.
4) I am EST time so I believe I am an hour ahead which is not at issue for me. Fridays would be the best for me because that is my least busy day in terms of college.
5) I am fine with spoken word .
6) I would say I am too new to DM but I am okay with lending my voice for some NPCs if need be.
7) I am female but I prefer using male characters so I hope that is okay.
hello, i would love to join i have been playing for a while with my other group i meet up in person but we have been busy and i'm looking for a online group I have gmed 1 or 2 times and i love to play any type really
Hello! I am very interested in this. I am fine with all those questions, visual descriptions are fine and I'm usually always free so time is perfect. Though I've never actually played, I have watched many podcasts, particuarly Critical Role. I have particular Elven sorcerer I'm currently itching to use. My name is Gage, and I don't think I would be a Co-DM, as I have no experience in D&D.
I'd be very interested in either helping with NPC's or even being able to join the campaign as a player, I'm currently working on my voice acting career and would love to be able to take a dive into your world.
1) I live in the mindset that players and characters are two different beings and being in character makes for a more submersible experience. So playing the characters alignment out based on in game choices is no problem for myself.
2) My preferred role usually tends to either be a tactical off-tank or a up front attacker, someone who isn't afraid to make the sacrifice of taking the hit for the team. at times I also enjoy playing a mixture of versatile ranged types.
3) I've played D&D a couple times (mainly due to not being able to find groups around me or friends who could set up a game schedule for it) I've also played Pathfinder and Anima.
4) My Fridays right now are pretty flexible right now so there isn't any trouble with the time zone or the run time.
5) I'm most curious by this one, as it would be the most challenging aspect of it, although that being said it still doesn't bother me, so I'd be more than willing to partake in that experience.
6) As I stated already I wouldn't mind just having less of an impact role as just being a voice of the world, although I'd lose out on experiencing it myself, I could instead give others that experience to enjoy for themselves, which in turn could be fun in itself.
7) I can play as a female or male character which ever would be more acceptable or even which ever one would best suit the mood, I'm a pretty laid back open minded individual who's always looking to further myself in something new or old. I'm pretty reasonable and always willing to adapt to a situation that best suits everyone as long as its a reasonable feat that I can make, I'm not perfect which comes to no surprise.
1.) I love playing with an alignment that forms based on who the character is and not their alignment.
2.) I like playing sneaky characters, but am open to playing whatever the party needs.
3.) Yes I have played a couple campaigns, still newish to it but absorbing as much as possible.
4.) I certainly can, I am in San Francisco and can get out of work well before that start time.
5.) I love DnD when it is completely theatre of the mind. Visuals are cool though too, either way is good for me.
6.) I would be interested in co-DMing down the line, still honing my DnD skills and getting more familiar with the world. Just bought the Monster handbook and DM handbook so eventually I would love to collaborate and pick the brain of an experienced DM.
7.) I am extremely excited to say the least. I have an improv comedy background and have the ability to do a number of different voices when needed, and break any nervous tension at the right time. :)
1.) I am Willing to play without a strict alignment rule. I'd rather make decisions based on who my character is and who they're developing into. (Although I'm also ok with alignments too)
2.) I would prefer to play a Half orc Warlock (failed wizard). Pact of the Tome.
3.) I have played many versions of DND. And another FRPG. Full disclosure: I'm older dude.
4.) I am looking forward to committing 3-4 hours every other week! I'm in the EST zone so that time frame is perfect for me.
5.) I prefer to play "Theatre of the Mind" but visuals are cool too.
6.) I am not interested in Co-Dming
7.) I am a good guy, friendly, funny (ok I think I am funny). I love RPing although I'm not great at it. I understand that its a shared game, and team work is the key. I understand that only one person should be speaking at a time.
Hey, I noticed you have a lot of replies. That's so awesome! I'm Chip and looking to add my own application to the list!
1.) Totally willing to just go with the flow of decisions instead of relying on an alignment
2.) I usually like playing either charismatic rogue-ish characters, but I also enjoy magic characters. I'm a writer as a hobby and enjoy creating and mapping out characters of any and all kinds so nothing limiting here.
3.) Not really, but I've watched a ton of YouTubers doing DND campaigns and enjoy RPG video games a la Dragon Age and Skyrim.
4.) Hey, I'm in CST! That works perfectly for me.
5.) I have a vivid enough imagination I think I'll be fine.
6.) As I said, I'm a writer by hobby, so 9/10ths of what I do is world-building and character creating and all that stuff while the rest is actually writing, so I'd love being a co-DM if it helped take the pressure off and offer another mind.
7.) I'm a physics major in my first year of college, so my time won't always be dedicated to the group but I'm not a slacker, I'll do my best to be engaged outside of scheduled times. I have extensive practice in RPing and think myself pretty good at it. I'm said to have a good sense of humor and wit, and while it takes me a good second to get comfortable, I'm an awesome conversationalist after the initial ice-breaking.
Thank you so much for the consideration and I hope you find who you're looking for!
