I've been dming for nearly two decades, with experience of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition as well as path finder, the mascaraed, and paladium gaming systems. I am pretty open to different play styles but prefer my player be attentive and drug/alcohol free when gaming. The current game world is over a decade old and has a lot of history with it. You are not required to learn it all, but it would be wise to check out the intro areas.
New players are welcomed, preferred players with a good grasp of D&D 3.5 and PF systems.
The game is conducted via discord and will be a mix of text based and voice chat. Web Cams are optional if you really want to use one.
Time zone is eastern standard time, typical play time hours are Friday evenings and Saturdays after lunch. Games can run for several hours. If all players want to play during the evenings during the week then the dm is more than able to run short game secessions then as well.
Most play is role play oriented, and focuses on consequences and outcomes for choices and interactions. Some combat is involved in game play but this is not a hack and slash game. Many things are story and detail oriented, but not linear. Think of one of those old choose your own adventure books or the butterfly effect, if you are familiar with either of those things. The current campaign is about to start and will be officially kicking off next week, characters will be involved in a world at conflict. Nations and their rulers have ambitious plans for expansion, but will they come together before what is looming in the shadows arrives and attempts to destroy them all? There are both sci-fi and fantasy elements with in the current campaign, more info can be found on the discord. Game play is adult oriented, it is not advised for anyone under age to join this game as they may not be mature enough to handle bad outcomes to situations they put themselves in.
Currently the group is looking for two to five additional players. We try to keep out of character light hearted and fun, though some elements of game play are quite serious. We like jokes and humor, but not childishness. If you play drunk or high then this group is not for you.
This is a homebrew campaign, set in a home brew world. Information about the world can be found on the discord.

About the world: Xanthis is a continent set in the far distant future after the apocalypse of the world as we know it. Magic, Gods, monster, and more abound. Several kingdoms have risen and fallen over the years and after the last recent war tensions are high all across the area. There are of course most of the standard races, elves, dwarves, humans, gnomes, halflings, and so forth. As well as some custom races. Sadly it would take more than a few pages to give an outline and history for the world, but all of this information is on the discord and anyone is welcome to come look and decide if our world might be right for you.
There are some basic rules for playing with us: 1st: Don't be a dick - this should not have to be outlined, but there have been players in the past who's sole goal was simply to kill off the entire party or deliberately ruin the game. You get one chance, if you break this rule there is a permanent ban. We're all here to have fun, so don't be a troll or a hole when you are playing or talking out of character. 2nd: If you have questions ask. The current players and myself as dm realize that there is a lot of info to absorb, you don't need to know it all, but if you have a question ask and we will answer it as best we can. 3rd: Not all classes are available depending on the time period. When in doubt consult the dm. 4th: Some home brew stuff is used and some rulings have been made on certain feats, if you find something you think might fit well then propose it and the dm will look it over and give a yes or know for allowing it, the same goes for if you wish to develop your own spells. 5th: Lets all have fun, that's what we're here for!
Some things of note, our campaign is highly rp and story oriented, it focuses on your characters, their choices, and the outcomes for those choices. There is some combat, but it is not a hack and slash sort of game. Attention to detail and question asking is encouraged, so that characters can respond accordingly with how the player has their personalities set up. Most of the players are military vets and not easily offended, and we don't harbor any issues with peoples personal preferences. There are instances of same gender relations in the game. There are instances of nasty creatures with in the game, some of which might think you'd make a nice afternoon snack.
As dm I tend to try not to kill off my players; however, I also do not save players from situations they put themselves in.
The game includes fantasy, sci-fi, and horror elements.
Knowing the history and back story of the world is not required for the current campaign, it's more of a learn about things as you go.
The game is ran more text based so that players can always look back and refresh themselves on past happenings. Thus, basic writing skills are preferred(I.e. no lol, odd acronyms, etc.). There is a tutorial section for basic rp writing if anyone wants to look through it on the discord.
There are numerous guild organizations, towns, cities, ruins, and history to explore.
We currently have three active players, and room for two to four more.

As a heads up, since we had a troll try to join recently, we expect players to act like decent rational human beings and not attempt to derail or troll the game. The campaigns are 90% role play, this includes adult themes, and players are expected to act like adults. This shouldn't need to be restated.
Also, those of the lgbq (etc) community are more than welcome to join so long as they are polite and act like adults. Any sort of shaming or harassment based on that preference is not tolerated with in our group and will earn a permanent ban.
Also, there will be no underage role play allowed with in our games, since our recent troll inquired about that as well. If you have to ask if something is considered ok when it is clearly illegal then you are probably trying to join the wrong group.

Taking usage of the Ask and Seek, would it be an issue if I used my phone for the voice talking, this is only until I am able to get a new laptop. My last one broke and you wouldn't believe how many people X'd me out for only having a phone handy. I am a former DM though I would deeply love to be on the other side of the table with the party. I am easy to get along with once my silence of adapting is over which is usually about a few moments until I commonly have to talk. I can make just about any character for anything as to being a former DM of 5 years before my hiatus to spend time with family. Hopefully I am.not the only male in the group wanting to hang out with others due to the longing of a campaign. Thank you
It's an adult game, so we prefer 18+. That said, so long as you act like a mature adult there shouldn't be any issues with playing in one of my campaigns.
