Why waste time talking when you can just type??

 For a change of pace, we're launching a text game with no video or audio. Just writing and reading, like a choose-your-own-adventure where you scribble your own solutions in the book. There will still be maps, there will still be music, there will still be pictures. There will be dice rolling, there will be laughter, and there will be tears. We just won't be able to hear them.

In this game we'll be playing by text through Discord and Roll20.

If you've never tried a text-only game before, it's worth checking out. There is a depth and immersion that really shines through when you can examine every word. It's also a great alternative if you ever find yourself feeling a little shy or getting drowned out in more vocal groups.

ABOUT THE ADVENTURE:

We'll be starting at Level 10 with "Zikran's Zephyrean Tome" from Candlekeep Mysteries, and then aiming to continue a campaign across a number of other mini-adventures.

ZZT is a great way to start, though. It's a short, contained adventure with plenty of exploration (mountains to climb, seaside caves to investigate...), interesting encounters, and a tantalizing reward.

Starting with a short adventure (3-4 sessions, likely) should offer players a chance to dip their toes and decide if they want to stick around for the next adventure. So feel free to join the party for a test, and then see if you'll want to stay on for the whole campaign (we're aiming for Level 20, folks!)

WHAT DO YOU NEED?:

Well for once you do not need a camera or even a microphone (so feel free to play on your 2005 Dell notebook.)
You do need free accounts with Roll20 and Discord. I have a Roll20 Plus account, so we have the benefit of character vault imports (if you have a Roll20 character you'd like to export to this game.)

Players are welcome to bring their own Level 10 characters, maybe coming off the back of another adventure, if you shoot it over to me first for a little vetting.
You can also create a new adventurer by yourself or with my help. We use a modification of the DMG's starting resources, so contact me for details.

GAME TIMING:

We're currently slated for weekly on Tuesday from 7-10 PT, but the day of the week is flexible based on player schedules. If you're interested but Tuesday doesn't work for you, please still get in touch.

NOTE ABOUT TYPING:

Just as some people can get nervous to speak in front of strangers, others might get self conscious about their typing speed, spelling, etc. Rest assured that no marks will be awarded for punctuation or capitalization :)
This is a safe and unhurried game, and I'll never pressure you to type faster or edit more carefully.
