Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online using DNDbeyond, discord and roll 20 Experience: All welcome but prefer over 18's - not expecting any adult content but I already run a separate campaign with my teenage son and his friends so wanting a different vibe Location: UK/GMT Schedule: Monday's ideally but maybe Thursday's starting at 7:30 pm GMT running for approximately 3 hours as a weekly game looking to start 26th or 29th September Roles sought: 4-5 players Game style: A good mixture of RP, combat and dungeon crawling as well as puzzle solving in a light hearted atmosphere but still focused on the game
The game is open to everyone as a safe open space to play regardless of gender, race, sexuality, creed etc - no harassment of any kind will be tolerated
Set in Faerun this will be a mix of home brew and official campaigns and is for characters starting at level 1 and will progress up to 10 initially but I have ideas on how to continue past this
It is the year 1495 DR (Dale-Reckoning), or 137 PR (Present Reckoning) and the past few years have largely been peaceful and prosperous.
However, this year’s winter has been especially harsh. It is now the 20th day of Flamerule (Summertide) and yet the ground is still frozen hard and covered in snow, despite spring having been and gone.
The sky is dark all day with the Sun rarely seen and then even weakly, barely providing any light or warmth below.
Even this far north of Faerûn talk has been heard of farmers worries of poor crop yields this year from the traditionally warmer south and the prospect of famine ahead, as no-one can recall a winter so harsh and long-felt.
In Sword Coast and the Savage Frontier regions, people are looking to the leaders of the Lord’s Alliance for re-assurance and support for the year ahead.
Will go over full house rules etc in session zero but key points are 1) No meta gaming - play what your character knows only 2) Everyone gets a chance to shine 3) No major PvP 4) Main source book materials are OK and home brew considered 5) Point buy character creation 6) Mixture of XP and milestone leveling 7) Rule of the cool over RaW and quick rule decisions
If this sounds like a game that interests you then please let me know what character ideas you have (I will share more campaign background info to help with backgrounds etc) I want people to play characters they want rather than filling a perceived gap in the party make up so I'll make sure the party is balanced to the campaign challenges If people have any specific phobia's then let me know and I'll see if I can amend the monsters to remove them - some I can't but I will let you know if they are thematically critical (e.g. spiders etc)
My plan (subject to responses) is to select players for the game by end of Sunday so people get a chance to read and reply rather than it being fasted finger first
Please feel free to PM me here or on Discord (JayTheLesser#8376) for any more details
Hi Jay, i would be able to make 29th September, Im new-again to DnD so would be happy to come along, i mostly played cyberpunk when i was a teenager. Happy to go through character creation with you, as i'd love to learn, i can be quite imaginative so should be fun!
hi! this sounds really interesting - i am brand new to d&d, it's always been something i've been interested in but never managed to find a group irl to get my hooks into it.
i am a total newbie so if it's not something you want to take on board i totally understand - but i'm from the UK so im in gmt, i am free mondays and i am super keen!
i'm happy to share my character with you if you think you'd be interested. :)
Hey, I should be good to meet this time frame, character wise would love to play any of my characters I've made on here (I'm not currently in any campaigns) if you would like to go over the details of some of them let me know discord is Sage Prinny#8754
I'm a dnd veteran, started playing in 1990 as a 6-year old, and played on and off after that in different settings, game systems and editions. I'm now a 38 year old who's always had an interest in Fantasy literature and rpg's.
I personally enjoy roleplaying and I do try a bit of voice acting, as it connects me more to my character. RP/Combat - 70/30 or thereabouts? I prefer my games with a bit more mature/serious tone. I love rule #1 (no metagaming). The humour and laughs will still come anyway without necessarily going about provoking extreme chaos in absolutely every setting and situation. That has more to do with big personalities though, which is why I particularly like your rule #2 (everyone gets a chance to shine). I like when death is a real possibility and resurrection options are limited.
I'm currently on extended sick leave with quite a bit of time on my hands. Full exclosure, I do sadly have a game Mondays, so if I was to join it would have to be Thursday evenings out of the two times listed.
I would love to discuss character options with you. I do have a couple in mind already.
I'm really interested in joining this session and would also like to learn more about playing DnD
i'm really new to DnD and im not sure if experience in playing tabletop game counts
Im mostly available on weekends although I'm almost done with school (senior), and I think my charecter will bring a lot of action and creativity to the game!
I'd be very interested in joining your game. Those times work for me, and I quite like the Faerun setting! I really enjoy RP'ing and getting into my character; I tend to try and flesh out even minor details to make them feel more real, such as favored foods, childhood memories, etc. I find I tend to prefer RP more than combat, so I'll say my preferred ratio is about 70/30 or 80/20. I have no significant phobias, and I am over 18; I'm actually 30. I'm definitely interested in the light-hearted atmosphere that you mentioned; I can appreciate the occasional periods of darkness, but I find I prefer more light-heartedness and fun. I'll PM you my character details, and potentially add some questions, if I can think of some.
I look forward to hopefully hearing back from you, - Lumenarc

Hope to hear from you!
I'm interested, I typically play rogues, clerics, druids, usually human, gnomes, etc etc. Just getting back into RPing.
Mondays are great for me.
I'm old school so Rule of Cool and group story telling always better than RaW...you cant win D&D.
