I am the GM for a LARGE campaign which currently has 4 groups running around on the same map earning XP, gold and magical items, providing cause and consequences for each other and the world around them. The setting is Victorian Steampunk with a homebrew plot and shared content available to choose from. There are plans to go beyond level 20 for the veterans who make it that far, too!
We want more groups on the map, so I need to advertise for more GMs to take on the task of running more sessions for more players on the same map. I already run 4 groups, so to run more would lead to insanity on my part.
Any GMs who want to have a go with this must be able to be communicative, have plenty of free time and be able to keep an open mind while following an adaptive plot and some basic table rules.
Experience isn't necessary as training will be given, but applicant must be willing to show they can put the work in. GMs volunteer so that everyone, including the players AND the GM, can have fun. If you think you'd like to try this, then this game might be for you!
I even have a nice GM Office in the Discord server where we can discuss each others' group's shenanigans in private; I imagine it to be decorated with a terracotta tiled floor, dark red painted walls, brown leather sofa on a dark grey wool rug nearby a cast iron fireplace in the far corner, keeping a kettle hot and maintaining a faint smell of cherry wood smoke in the air.
Applicants must also be mindful, open and inclusive to any who want to play Dungeons & Dragons and be prepared to accept players without discrimination as we operate a zero-tolerance abuse policy.
GMs in my campaign would be expected to host regular weekly sessions of 4-6 players per group at the discretion of the GM's personal schedule, while following some core material I write each week.
For example, I am currently able to organise and host 4 groups of 6 players each per week, about 4 hours per session while doing preparation and 'homework' between each session, but I don't expect anyone to be able to copy this (unless someone out there is able and willing, in which case you are one in a million!). I like doing my homework and research while drinking tea and munching bacon sandwiches.
If you wish to be a GM in this campaign, please talk to me privately to ensure this is a good fit for you first. Again, while experience isn't necessary, please ensure you have the time and energy before applying so we don't mess about with the time and effort of potential players, reducing potential for a "revolving-door" turnover. Players look forward to a consistent and reliable opportunity for escapism and that's what we want to provide.
We use Discord for communication and organisation, DNDBeyond for character sheets and most dice rolls, the Avrae Discord Bot for weird dice rolls, Owlbear.Rodeo (and soon Owlbear.app) for maps and Inkarnate for map creation.
I will be quizzing you for if you have read this thoroughly. If you haven't, unfortunately your application won't be accepted.
I hope to read some replies sometime later this week, but feel free to reach out to me via private message or via my Discord tag found in my signature.
Till then, all the best!
