I am a reasonably competent tactical player but more inclined to play a pure class than a power build. I'm most comfortable playing a fighter, but am warlock curious and more than willing to do the cleric thing. I am passably competent at roleplay and can rise to the occasion if among actual roleplayers, but I am most comfortable with a wargamer approach. I absolutely suck at puzzles, mysteries or political intrigue and would not enjoy a game heavy with that (some is fine, as long as there are other players who can carry my load). That said a 'pure' hack and slash would not be my style either.
I always play a Good character and would not be comfortable playing in a group that did not share the same ethic. Not interested in playing or playing with villains.
By far my favourite games in the past have been multi-year campaigns where characters can truly grow from humble beginnings to epic heroes. I have legs, and if I don't literally croak in RL, can stick it out to the end. I would love a game intended to go from first level to epic (well over 20).
I would prefer a GM who isn't TOO much of a stickler for rules as written. For instance, if playing a warlock I'd want to go celestial warlock with an aasimar and would want to trade in one or more racial features to be able to sprout actual wings... That said, I am more likely to play a burly dwarf fighter.
I am currently playing in a long-term D&D campaign on Thursday nights where the GM is running a 3.5 world (Ptolus) with 5e characters. As he is taking the critters straight out of 3.5 which are apparently tougher than 5E, he gave us all a free feat at level one and another at level ten. The fights are tougher, but I am loving the freedom the extra feats brought.
I tend to write decent backstories, but they are not usually the sort that obligate GMs to use much of what is in them. I just like to write.
Bookworm, martial artist, repentant psychic, dried out drug addict, paramedic, pseudo-apostate libertarian, debater, knife maker, SCA basher, professional gamer, speculator, pornographer, and nascent social commentator. ...and I want an uncomplicated life.
Howdy, I'm planning on running a game on either Monday Tuesday or Wednesday, I can give you more info on discord at YourDM#6046, otherwise we can talk on here, mind you i wont respond as fast

The only way to do great work is to love the work you do.
I have no issues with those who can afford it and I do not think it unreasonable of people to ask for it, but... I am living on a fairly meagre retirement pension and cannot afford pay to play.

Hi I am a experienced player and done some DMing before but I am trying to look for a group of people who wants to play DnD. Most would be unplanned, taking inspiration from various things. I wanna decide together with people what they want to play and how they want to play. I am a LARPer and studying as a guide and presenter so expect vivid environment telling or epic scenes. My time is not endlessly flexible because of school but I can play pretty often. I am always glad for constructive criticism. Wanna be a all powerful being? Go ahead we can make that Go on a journey to fulfill a dream from childhood? Yes ofc, done Epic scenery roleplay where we lift up characters personalities and have fun? Count me in I will do my best Have a campaign request on a premade one that I can get the module for then I can go for that as well.
Discord: The Potato Elf#1386 Either we play through Dc or something like google meets, don't have to have camera.
Don't know if it is what you are searching for but I am very adaptive to the group
