About the adventure
A strange disease that attacks the mind and body of its victims has been spreading across the realm. Despite all of the nation's best efforts to halt its spread, you now find yourself afflicted with this ailment. You have decided to venture towards the Bloodless Isles, the original location where the disease was discovered, in search of a treatment or cure. With a lot of effort, and a little coin, you have found a charter vessel that will bring you to your destination. You set off with other suspicious travelers towards the Bloodless Isles.
Unbeknownst to you, the Isles are currently being torn apart by multiple factions. The Free People of the Bloodless Isles seek independence from the Morid Empire, whose aim is to strengthen their grip on the isles. The Mariners guild seeks control over the seas and its glorious bounty. The Privateers Guild seeks to unify the pirates of the area and gain dominion over the trade routes and harbors, while the Order of the Golden Scale seeks to eradicate them in order to bring peace back to the seas. Lastly, the Truth Seeker Society searches for a cure to the strange affliction spread across the realm.
During all of this unrest and war, a strange cult has also been growing in numbers in the shadows of the isles. Their worship of an otherworldly being brings with it an unexpected wave of hideous creatures from the dark abyss of the deep sea. The cult seeks to awaken an otherworldly god slumbering deep in the abyss, who is intent on bringing madness and corruption to the world as you know it.
What I provide
I bring all 5e content you may need to make your character on D&D Beyond, a boosted discord server for voice chat, unique voices for important npcs and maps and music to add visuals and ambience. I also offer a forge link where you can play in browser as well as free tutorial sessions to teach you about foundry and D&D5E. I will be working with you in between sessions to create personal quests that tie in to the overall narrative of the campaign.
Gameplay details
Your first session is free and your second session is half price. We we go over the themes of the campaign in session 0 as well as the saftey tools we will be using. We will be using digital X, N & O cards that can be accessed at anytime in foundry.
This is a mostly homebrew sandbox campaign that is inspired by Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Call From the Deep. I do incorporate some material from these modules as well. You should expecy a lot of eldritch horror, mystery, politics and survial elements. The campaign will be a nautical adventure that spans across a series of islands, the oceans around them and the depths beneath them. You will be interacting with six unique factions that will seek to work alongside you or manipulate you into furthering their goals in the area. Maybe you will align yourselves with some of the many factions or maybe you will start your own faction. The choice is yours.
This campaign offers a lot of freedom on how the players try to find the cure to their affliction as well as how they attempt to uncover the dark plot happening across the islands of the area. Over the course of the campaign both the party and the characters of the world will be struggling with limited resources, trying to hold onto their sanity and repel the monstrous being from the depths. If you love horror and mystery stories and have always wanted to be able to shape the story as a group, rather than follow a rigid story, than this is the campaign for you.
