Game style: Roleplay preferred. Will not shy away from fights but do not want fight heavy campaigns.
Details: We are four players who have been playing D&D for an average of 12 years. We are looking for a GM who can handle different types of personalities; including a player who requires nudging due to a reactionary playstyle. We've all been a DM for a campaign but miss playing together as a group. We have had issues in the past with DMs who have been overly critical/analytical to the point that hours have been wasted on explaining their decision long past the decision being made and would like to avoid that type of confrontational DMing style.
We usually play on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month with flexibility to move Saturdays around. We play from 12:30 pm PDT/PST to 6/7:00 pm (UTC -08) but are open for shorter sessions. They must still start at 12:30 pm PDT/PST due to players' schedules. We have a Calendar that is kept up to date with days that are unavailable for D&D sessions and if those land on a 2nd/4th weekend we try to move it so we keep to 2 sessions a month minimum. We have our own Discord Channel to use for D&D. We use DnDBeyond for character sheets/rolling/campaigns and have used Owlbear for maps/character tokens/visuals. We have not had luck with Foundry and have found it to be difficult to deal with due to stability and accessibility issues.
We are looking for a GM who is comfortable with using the 5e prebuilt modules but we are also open to Homebrews as long as they use the 5e TTRPG system as we do not use other systems. We are not comfortable with Critical Role or the Rick and Morty cross-over prebuilt but are up for nearly all other campaigns.
Our preferred play style is more Role-play over fighting but do not shy away from fights as long as they don't feel like a slough or unnecessary to continuing the story.
We are comfortable starting from scratch if need be, but have played characters up to level 12.
We would like to run one-shots with any potential GM to test the waters before commitment. It is better to see if we all work together before committing to a large-scale D&D session.
We are also up for DMs who would like to be players occasionally. We enjoy rotating GMs to give everyone a break/chance to work on the next campaign and someone else will run a few sessions in the downtime as needed.
