A little self introduction
Hello there reader, I am a 30 y/o ASD DM, with years of fantasy writing experience with a focus on hero building. I have been DM'ing for 2 1/2 years and I have a fairly good grip on RAW. I prefer to use my own perception of situations, traits and other abilities over RAW, but I am familiar with it. I love to laugh with others, and have fun. I am currently in working my way through some D&D Adventures to bolster my knowledge on World Building.
Curse of Strahd
Through the use of unstable magic, a party of five lands in the Misty Forests of Barovia, with no clues has to how to get home, and no clear path forward, travel this cursed land in order to find that which you thought lost. Help the people or leave them to their fate. Fight dangerous monsters, creatures and beasts that have come here much the same way you did. And find the Raven who marked you for this cursed life.
Castle Ravenloft:
Your Heroic Journey
For any adventure there must be a start. You'll find a campaign introduction below.
For your own reasons, You and several volunteers to an well paying experiment occurring in a collage of Neverwinter, executed by a master wizard called Hlamar Longbeard during which, a magic fluctuation sends you hurtling into the sky's of an unknown land. A giant Raven swoops by, marking only a few of you, before flying onward into the clouds. You awake on your back, with only a few items in your backpack and a clan of hungry hyena's circling you in the dense forest. Here you find your first encounter and a greeting from the dark land of Barovia.
Character Systems We Use
Milestone Leveling : The campaign is about the parties story. Achievements, story progression, and major events reward the party with levels, spells, items and even feats. I want you to be rewarded for playing your character.
Multi-Classing : Multi-Classing is allowed within what makes sense for the character. A choice should be story driven and thematic.
Level 1 Start : Start your journey in becoming a legend in Ravenloft.
Level 1 Origin Feat : Every character gets a bonus feat at level 1 from a set of selected story driven feats.
Bonus Feats : Every time you gain an ASI you always gain a +1 to a stat and either a half or full feat.
Piety Paths : Follow your characters virtues and beliefs and earn powerful boons for following your character's goals.
Supernatural Gifts : Earn supernatural gifts to further your character's heroic journey.
Spell & Martial Mastery : Master weapons and signature spells to make them more powerful with unique versions and skills for your character.
Expanded Weapons : Get access to advanced weapon options to further develop your character.
Crafting : You can find and acquire materials to craft your own items from elemental gems to infernal weapons.
Homebrew : Enter your own story among the countless many with homebrewed items, skills, crafting, and spells.
Rule of Cool : I always support players being creative and curious. Should an action allow for something truly heroic I always give my players a shot!
World Tools
Above VTT: Explore various maps and dungeons in a full interactive tabletop..
Discord / D&D Beyond : Every player gets access to all the source-books on D&D Beyond to develop your character, and a personal discord server for the campaign.
Scheduling
Sessions are on Sunday nights starting at 5:30 PM EST to 12:00 AM EST.
We play 3-4 Hours weekly.
Expectations
Be Respectful, Patient, and Supportive.
LGBT+ friendly group & we want everyone to feel happy and comfortable.
Attendance is important. If you miss 2 sessions without notice you'll be dropped.
No Metagaming : I'd like players to be able to stay in character, and think in character.
Characters must be team players : An adventurer needs a reason to travel together, look for companions, and trust each other. D&D is a collaborative story telling experience we should enjoy together.
Communicate : Whether it is in character with other players or the world, issues or questions out of character, or advice from the DM, communicate your thoughts. We all want to have fun, and make sure nobody feels left out or confused.
Application Format :
If this kind of game sounds like a good fit for you please send me a DM following this format. We will read through every application through next week so feel free to take your time.
Tell me about you: I am a junior in college, my favorite color is green, and I am the VP and Treasurer of my university's DND Club.
Your favorite part of D&D: I have been browsing the forums for months, and I would appreciate a follow-up at least.
D&D Experience ( Any memorable moments? ): I have been playing and DMing for over two years. I've befriended demigods and played the son of Asmodeus.
Campaign Expectations: I want to have fun with plenty of roleplay and combat (one combat per session).
----
What kind of characters do you like to play? I'll play whatever the party needs.
Character Concept(s): I have a dual-wielding fighter that wants to be the greatest swordsman in the world, I have a blood hunter looking for revenge on a lich, I have a paladin who is trying to become death incarnate to spite the gods, etc. I have a lot of characters.
Tell me about you: I'm an amateur writer in my spare time, working on three books at the moment that have been a pet project for me. Nerdy kinda person who enjoys many different TCGs and Various rpg games.
Your favorite part of D&D : Character creation. I love being able to throw myself into a story and creation giving life to a new soul that I can become and lose my self in.
D&D Experience ( Any memorable moments? ): I've played for three years now, in two incomplete campaigns as a player and I've completed one campaign as a dm. I'm also currently dming a campaign on Thursday's.
Campaign Expectations: My main goal in this or expectation from this is to be able to finish a campaign with a new found group of friends and enjoy myself. I find it hard to enter new groups or parties, and finish a campaign without something being wrong.
----
What kind of characters do you like to play?
Character Concept(s): My most enjoyable characters that I've played Is a Artificer Rouge who was dual wielding pistols in a Storm King Thunder campaign.
I'm also creating new characters and my most anticipated characters that I've been interested in using is a dual-wielding samurai, Oath Breaker Paladin based around a fallen angel, Metalic Bronze Dragon Born using the Wild magic subclass as a Sorcerer, and a goblin cleric in the death domain.
Tell me about you : Returning to D&D after 40+ years, Just completed my first campaign.
Your favorite part of D&D : The people and worlds we create together
D&D Experience ( Any memorable moments? ) : The time my tempest Cleric used shatter to drop the ceiling in a house where the createures we were lookinf for were hiding. It allowed th party to avoid several " Home Alone" like traps on the stairs and way to the second floor room. I felt like it was a really cool use of a spell in a creative way that help the party.
Campaign Expectations : Have fun and be somewhat tolerant of my questions. I am still learning.
----
What kind of characters do you like to play? I think in this setting I would like to play a twilight cleric that is driven to save those who acnnot save themselves. I think that the an Oath of Vengence Paladin would be a natural play as well. I could also see an the Paladin driven by his hate and desire fro revenge to make a pact with an out of worldly being to get what he really wants ( mult-class with warlock). If the makeup of the party suggests another path I would be open to that also.
I am iLLuuMi, and I will be running the campaign. I have messaged you all privately with the discord link to the Adventurer's Guild Discord Server. I hope to meet you all this Saturday.

Tell me about you : I have ~5 years experience playing. Longest campaign I have played in was 2 years, consistently. I have DM'd Storm Kings Thunder.
Your favorite part of D&D : The game allows dynamic problem solving and working as a team to overcome obstacles. Those attributes become stale in other games, but not in TTRPGs.
D&D Experience ( Any memorable moments? ) : We were fighting a minion of the BBEG. A slime was closing the room off and chasing us out, threating to suffocate us. I decided to use an item who's power was unknow to me. Turns out it required a D100 roll for a spell table. The majority of the spells would cause the slime to speed up, or have no effect. Luckily I rolled a Fireball and was able to slow down the slime.
Campaign Expectations : Consistency. Even if we have to cut some sessions short, or let sessions run long, that's fine. I find that groups become too used to skipping sessions because of scheduling conflicts. Skipping two sessions in row leads to people losing interest and the group disbands.
----
What kind of characters do you like to play? Very much a person that likes to fill in where the party is needed. I have played a lot of different classes before, but have most expertise with the Bard.
Tell me about you: I'm a British lad that's currently in France. I'm studying to become a Nurse, and I'm a huge nerd, from anime to video games to tv shows. I'm easygoing and fun to be around and that's great because I enjoy being around people :)
Your favorite part of D&D : Heavy roleplay, sharing an amazing story with friends with an unpredictable outcome.
D&D Experience ( Any memorable moments? ) : The best has to be a horror one-shot for Halloween where my character a writer that was trying to do a character study by pretending to be an adventurer gets in over his head. My character was afraid of the big bad evil guy but after a good wisdom roll while cowering in fear he said to himself "Just do what an adventurer does in this situation", with a disguise self and the actor feat, I managed to pretend to be the brother of the villain, taunting him and was targeted for it. I tanked everything with a shield spell and saved everyone from a lot of damage. all the players and characters were great and I'm really proud that I had the opportunity to play that game.
Campaign Expectations : I heard many good things of curse of strahd but have never played it. I except gothic horror, heroic moments but also terrible tragedy. I can't wait to play it and explore Barovia.
----
What kind of characters do you like to play? He's a Human and arcane trickster rogue.
Character Concept(s): Stefan Nimirovic is a young man, an ex-criminal who changed his way after a tragic event in his life. he's a force of good in this world now and wants to atone for his past sins. I have no knowledge of the module and I would like to know more about the world before creating a more extensive character, to make it fit more.
