Hey, the name is Snorl4xxer, or however you prefer to shorten that. I've been in the TTRPG scene for what feels like a long time now, and the play by post scene for what feels like even longer.
I've got a vast working knowledge of both D&D 5th edition rules and Forgotten Realms lore. With a particular interest in the gods, planes, and by extension Spelljammer (2e not 5e). I have ADHD, and tabletop games are one of my hyperfixations, so I just pick up and retain a lot of knowledge surrounding them. However, this interest also extends to my or other DMs' settings, so I would advise caution in that regard. I will analyze the things you say, and I am always theorizing, planning, or otherwise scheming internally, but I have the hard learned (through youth) tact not to spoil the fun for others if I know or discover potential meta knowledge.
This builds into what is both one of my greatest strengths and weaknesses. My propensity to always plan around and analyze situations combined with my ADHD warped thought process leads to a lot of out-of-the-box thinking, and - while I may be rather clever at times and highly intelligent academically speaking - this is one of two double edged swords that form the core of my OOC identity. That combined with my stunning luck, stunning in the sense that I either have all of it... or none of it. Frankly I don't quite buy into luck, and I'm more one for statistics. However, I am forced to recognize that if luck was in fact a real thing I have a whole heap of it.
The last important thing you should know is that I am a very slow to trust person. Without delving too much into my DARK and TRAGIC backstory I'll sum it up by saying I experienced my fair share of trauma in both my childhood and early adulthood. To the point where I have great difficulty verbally speaking to, interacting with, and trusting strangers. I understand this trait alone normally entirely kills the interest of any prospective DMs. However, I've done a great deal of work through therapy and help from my friends to start overcoming this crippling weakness.
Other than that - I've played a lot of 5e due to it being the only system I could find DMs and/or players for. I'd love love love to try other systems. Especially something like Mutants & Masterminds, Shadowrun, 5th Age, or hell maybe even Call of Cthulu.
As for 5e though, my longest running campaign as a DM was a homebrew Spelljammer campaign with a heavy emphasis on hunting and killing giant homebrew monsters to craft a wide variety of homebrew magic items. A campaign which totally drew absolutely no inspiration at all from Warhammer Fantasy & 40k, Monster Hunter, Grimms' Fairy Tales, and etc. It was also my first foray into DMing and was admittedly a long learning experience with constant improvement.
Which, speaking of, even if noone is looking for a new player or DM - hopefully player I'd love to play again - I would be very happy to sit down and talk shop on homebrew races, subclasses, items, spells, monsters, systems, and etc for 5e. I'm very meticulous and obsessed with balance when it comes to homebrew (with some exceptions if I want to reward players with an item that makes them feel super cool), so my homebrew normally always turns out pretty well balanced. Normally. Sometimes there's a Cape of the Matriarch or Coconut Mace in the mix where something has unintended SUPER SYNERGY.
However, you didn't come to hear my life story or about homebrewed content. As a player I quite enjoy bards for their (almost) unparalleled versatility as a class, and otherwise comfortable role as the only pure support class in 5e. However, while I do like musical bards I very rarely play a musically inclined bard. I like to think of bards as being a very good blanket class for many entertainment or scholarly professions such as knife jugglers, tamers, war drummers, poets, professors, and etc. Also I have a brain tumor on the thing that ****s around with my hormones so I'm not very keen or driven on sex or romance normally IC or OOC. Paragraph on bards aside, I love almost all the classes in 5e and am always happy to fill in empty roles. I also really really love to roleplay, although not as much as I do plotting and scheming (even when they go tits up). I usually have the mouth of a sailor, and am quite boisterous (and prone to breaking out into a confusing variety of voices/impressions) once you crack past my reserved shell, but I can easily dial it back if need be. My only rule is I don't play clerics except when I do for whatever reason because of my DARK and TRAGIC irl backstory [DRAMATIC HAND GESTURES].
TL;DR: I ramble, sorry. 22 Y/O robotics major & long time roleplayer. Looking to play or DM, but preferably play as it's been a long while since I've got to. I have a lot of passion for TTRPGs, and especially 5e, although I'd like to try other systems. I can be a bit reserved at first, but once you crack through I can become almost overly boisterous. I have a proclivity for planning and scheming, and can be both very clever and lucky. I'm also very good at homebrew if you'd instead merely like to talk shop on homebrew. I willingly fill empty roles at the table and really really love to roleplay (once you crack past my shell anyway).
Hey there! So I have a few campaigns starting up if you are interested. They are pay to play, but if you wanna hear more let me know. 3 are on foundry vtt and 2 on roll20.
