Greetings and salutations, my friend. I humbly welcome you to my modest post. As the title suggests, I’ve endeavoured to try and find a game for my lovely forever DM and me, who’s been geeking out on characters with me for so long but never got to play any of her own. We were ideally hoping for a slightly more rule of cool driven campaign, for we often think outside the box and try to make seemingly ludicrous concepts work when she does run for me (It does involve some homebrew, but we’re more than willing to civilly talk and change stuff around). Tonight’s story graciously presents:
The Guardian (Me): If one is born as a male, as least once in his life, he'll dream of becoming a strongest man alive. And for those who choose to dedicate themselves to the path, their hands seldom remain clean. Ornhir is a prime example of that. A former general groomed under the most unforgiving militaristic regime (Similar to the Spartans), he was a testament among many, to his clan’s notoriety. Hardened, both in resolve and feelings, Ornhir opted to go further than any other. He opted to sacrifice his very spark, his very soul, for the strength to protect from any foe. It was a heavy deal to pay, which ended up costing him his comrades, as well as family, their essence and strength all coalescing as fuel to his own. Now, left clan less and without purpose, yet with the strength that comes second to none. To those that follow the path to its end, a single question remains: Was it worth it? Ornhir does not know. But perhaps fate will prove ever so fickle, to give him a chance to mellow out his wrongs. (Class: Homebrew Barbarian, possibly homebrew race or goliath)
The Fury of the Frost (forever DM): Long ago an ancient civilization of technologically minded people faced a great danger that could only be culled by magic. Appalled by the idea, yet still remaining intellectuals at heart, the nation’s council decided to gather a team of five young men and women who could harness magic. Among them a young lad by the name of Velthir, who was decended from both a great ice mage and a silver dragon, giving him impressively potent ice magic that was not seen before. Naturally, the young mage grew carless and cocky, which lead to his anticlimactic and untimely death in battle. Fortunately for the high council he had a younger sister, Wynter, who shared her brother's magical ability, albeit less powerful. The council took her as a replacement and cybernetically enhanced her abilities. in a few short years the threat was defeated, however, instead of sending the magic users home to their families, the council decided to put them into a cryosleep, so the civilization could awaken them if they were again needed. That way, they could at least save a little bit of their pride and not be forced to gaze at the very antithesis of their ideals. Years began passing like days through the sands of time, with the civilization eventually eroded along the way with the tide. The magic warriors remained blissfully ignorant, however all but one succumbed to their peaceful passing. Wynter finds her way out of the long forgotten facility, out of place, disoriented, and left to find her way, and grapple with the ghosts of her past. Only this time, Wynter might be the one who becomes the guarded. (Class: Draconic Sorcerer, with a homebrew race)
I hope you enjoyed the small preview into our ragtag creations. As you can see, we are incredibly invested in stories and character relationships, as well as their evolution. As such, a nice blend of story and combat would be ideal for us. Though, I assume we should move onto the more nitty gritty technical stuff. Both of us are over 18, and have been playing DnD for quite a while, so we know the ropes. We were hoping to find a group that would be playing at a slightly higher level, and are more than interested in long haul campaigns. The ideal time for us would be on Saturdays around noon GMT (Or around 7AM CST), however, we can offer some flexibility.
If there is anything that you’d like to ask us, or have a game that could use us as a due, fell free to reach out! I look forward to hearing from you, and all the best :D
