Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: A few years Timezone: Central Time U.S. Availability: 6:00–10:30 PM Wednesdays – Mondays or Fridays possible but less likely Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm currently in a long-term Saturday game but am looking for another on Wednesday evenings. I'm looking for a roleplay-focused campaign with a good mix of combat, exploration, investigation, politics and just about anything else. There are classes I haven't played yet, but I pay close attention to the rules and what my character can do in order to keep things moving along. Interacting and collaborating with others is what I really like about D&D.
I like shifting from dramatic to funny to grim to mysterious to ridiculous, even all in the same session. I've never played video games or MMORPGs, and my characters trend toward the gritty and emotionally realistic. So, both non-stop silliness and games that consist of nothing but moving characters through dungeon crawls don't turn me on. (I played one high-level session of Dungeon of the Mad Mage and was bored out of my skull). Character death—including my own character's—doesn't bother me, but I do like for my characters to take death seriously (that "gritty" thing again). I don't mind adult themes but am not interested in heavily romantic or any sexual RP.
I am currently playing Rime of the Frost Maiden and am not interested in Curse of Stradh, which I found to be far too predictable to be much fun, but other published campaigns (barring DotMM) are fine. I'm even interested in playing Lost Mine of Phandelver or the new Stormwreck Isle campaign, especially if they can lead the same characters on to other adventures. Out of game, I like friendly, good-humored people who respect and enjoy each other.
If you have a game that needs a player, are putting together a game, or are putting together a group with the idea of finding a DM, let me know. I"m on Discord as MarkInND#1338.
