Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Fresh DM, but fairly knowledgeable about 5e Location/Timezone: EST - East Coast US Availability: Safest option is bi-weekly on Saturdays / Sundays are doable as a weekly if we go from noon to 3/4 PM EST / Mondays any time, but may change due to work Preferred role: DM Game style: I feel I'm currently leaning to a casual roleplay style, light and humorous most of the time. But I'm also learning to try new styles.
Okay, time for the big breakdown:
I'm a beginner DM, I've ran Lost Mines of Phandelver and currently doing Descent into Avernus for friends. I'm looking for fresh input on my DM technique and style, as well as just wanting to connect with more people.
I'm looking for a group of four to six people, I would prefer a group of friends to reduce the chances of interpersonal drama at the table but am open to fresh randoms. Also open to players of varying experience - newcomers and veterans are free to apply.
I'm wanting to run the 'Joys of Extradimensional Space' from Candlekeep Mysteries as a one-shot mixer to get to know the players and their characters more before heading into the modules I have planned. I'm wanting to keep the modules secret because I'm trying to learn the ancient art of 'foreshadowing' and creating a connective tissue between these modules and one-shot and make an overarching narrative out of them. Because I'm wanting to start with JoES, we will start at level 1, which is a rough ride for anyone. We won't be going beyond level 10, unless we just find ourselves having too much fun with each other and wanna do more adventures.
I want to do a session 0 where we create our characters and establish some table rules, but I will rule this right now: Aarakocra race is not available, I had to deal with that nonsense doing LMoP; homebrew subclasses, if you are wanting to use them, have to go through me and be vetted.
As for the platform, more than likely this will be thru Roll20. If you're not familiar with it, I can't recommend it enough for it being a free system to use.
Now, like it said above, my time frame is fairly limited due to work/current campaign. Since we are hitting holiday season, the time for a session 0 will be limited, and possibly nothing happening till mid-December, depending on the time slot selected. (Currently, this weekend is open for discussion/session 0 if we get there fast enough, but the weekend of Dec 3rd I'll be out of town)
If you are interested, you can either post below or DM me, I'll be checking regularly to see who all is interested.
