since our long term campain came to an end me and a friend of mine are looking to start a new adventure! (Only looking for non paid games!)
A little something about us:
Player 1
Your name/Alias: Xeronos
Your gender: Male
Your age: 30+
Your Discord ID and number: Xeronos#4764
Your Timezone: GMT+1
Availability: somewhere around midnight (starting around 11:30 PM to 0:00 AM)
Your Dnd Experience: I have around 3 years of experience, intermediate would be fitting. I also DM since half a year.
Describe briefly what your a looking for in a gaming experience:
Well besides the most common answer “having a good time while fighting off the most evil monsters imaginable”, I prefer to simply experience a story that we as a group forge. A NPC that is loved by the party, a town where we feel at home, an enemy that we all despise and so on.
For me D&D is a way to express ones imaginary, my characters therefore are not focused around being the mechanical best, but more to be a living creature in the presented game world. That does not mean I intently play weak characters as that would hinder my companions, I just like to keep a certain archetype going. This would also include being able to differentiate what a PC is saying / doing opposed to what I as a player say. In game arguments can be fun and further contribute to bond party members together.
Generally, my Characters are easy to fit into party; I dislike the “annoying” stereotypes (murderhobos, I am the protagonist, my char would do that regardless of the consequences, etc.)
Therefore, in summery I would say that I am a pretty relaxed player who likes mixing up humor and tension, playing around other members of the party.
One random interesting thing:
I love the Warhammer Universe and started to collect and paint miniatures myself.
Player 2
Your name/Alias: Bob
Your gender: Male
Your age: 30+
Your Discord ID and number: Bob S. #5731
Your Timezone: GMT+1
Availability: somewhere around midnight (starting around 11:30 PM to 0:00 AM)
Your Dnd Experience: I would say I am an intermediate level player. I started with the Pathfinder system and later switched to dnd 5E, and have stuck to it for a few years now. I know most of the rules, but of course not every.
Describe briefly what your a looking for in a gaming experience:
I dislike oneshots or any short campaign. I prefer any ongoing campaign with an alive, changing world where we can leave our mark. That after a few session we can look at a map and say „yes, that is because of us“.
I prefer a mix between roleplay and combat. I am perfectly capable of playing a whole session with only roleplay, or an entire dungeon crawl session, as long as we have opportunitys for the other in the next session or the one after that.
I am more of a roleplayer, rather than a rollplayer and my character´s story is to me always more important than just how high his stats are and I rarely min max, if ever. But I also try to not make my character a liability for the team, so he will be able to pull his weight.
I try to keep things civil at the table. And I can make a clear differece between player and character. If I argue with someone at the table, then mostlikely because my character argues with his/her character and I am not offended if someone argues with my character, as long as that is done towards my character and not me.. That is what makes good roleplay.
Even if my character has a strong opinion on something, after a little bit of ingame argueing I usually will try to find the middleground, just to continue with the game, so you will not find me insisting that only my opinion is the right one, at least not for long ;P
Characters I play usually fit in most partys, so no evil murderhobos, no anti social lone wolf types. „That is what my character would do“ is NO excuse for excessive disruptive behaviour that takes away the fun from the other players.
And a last thing, given my past (bad) experience, I am somewhat biased against evil characters in a non evil party and DMPCs. By my expirience evil characters rarely fit in a non evil party and makes teamwork somewhat challenging and take away the fun from the others. I am not saying that it CAN´T be done, just that neutral and good characters are easier to fit into a party.
And DMPCs can be useful if they are handled correctly, but the moment they become the center of attention things usually turn sour.
One random interesting thing:
I once played with a player and his char did 0 (zero) damage on a crit. He never heard the end of that xD
