Hello! I've been DMing for the past 2 years and I'm looking to run a short-ish 10-15 session campaign. Why? For fun! For experience! To make friends!
This campaign:
- Will take our adventurers to fantastic locales: mysterious forests, eerie caves, picturesque hot springs, ancient ruins and more.
- Will see our adventurers set against classic D&D villains: dragons, goblins, evil wizards, trolls and the like.
- Will be customized to the motivations and goals of the characters.
- Will most likely go from level 1-6. (This could change depending on the group.)
- Will be beginner friendly.
My style of DMing:
- A strong focus on character driven narratives.
- A mix of silly and serious scenes/NPCs/storylines.
- I alternate between role play focused sessions and combat focused sessions. This means we are likely to have several sessions that are only role play. I tend to have large set piece combat every other or every two sessions.
- Mostly rules as written with some occasional rule of cool.
- Large combats will have a battle map, smaller skirmishes may be theater of the mind.
The setting:
Set in a homebrew high fantasy world that shares many similarities to the Forgotten Realms. Full of dragons, elves, dwarves, giants, and all the other magical creatures of classic fantasy. This story will be centered around the lively town of New Bickelton. Surrounded by ancient forests and towering mountains, this rather unassuming town runs along the banks of the Misty River.
Who I'm looking for:
- Cool, nice, fun, inclusive, non ********.
- Players that are 20+ years old.
- Generous role players. In collaborative roleplay, each player gives play to others. They "play up" someone by acting afraid of them if they are a villain, giving in if they are roleplaying a bully, or being admiring if they are playing a hero. Collaborative actors are those who include others in their scenes and plots.
- Players that invest in the character creation process and build three dimensional characters.
-Player who have the time and attention to regularly attend a weekly two to three hour session.
-Players with a webcam (or video capability) and decent internet.
-And perhaps most importantly! Players that want to actually make friends. The dream is that we end up with a group of interesting, respectful people that can actually support and trust each other.
Platform: Character sheets in Dndbeyond. Owlbear rodeo for combat visuals. Discord for voice and video. I strongly prefer everyone use video.
When: Mondays weekly at 6:30/7pm EST. 2-3 hour sessions. Session Zero will be February 20th.
*If you would like to apply as a group please include the names of the other members at the end of the survey.
Now CLOSED. Thank you to everyone who applied! There were so many wonderful applicants it was very difficult to choose just a handful! I will keep you all in mind for future campaigns. Best of luck!
