[Her Wicked Machines] is a homebrew gothic steampunk campaign set within Lordain, the capital city of Straszia. Its ruler, Empress Valencia is in a perpetual state of mourning, withdrawing from the public eye and delegating all royal duties. Given Valencia’s relative absence, Lordain’s artists, scholars, and machinists have become the driving interest in the city. Each of these groups have accrued much favor and renown, however the advancement of technology has had the most significant impact on the city. Every day brings a new invention, but also more pollution. Smog clouds the sky over Lordain and grime obscures the city’s original beauty. Now, the city is a dreadful shadow and its common people are nearing desperation. Your character arrives by train to Lordain’s central rail station, finding themselves surrounded by tension and conspiracy.
This campaign will be played weekly every Thursday at 12pm (Noon) eastern US time.
This is a new campaign and the party will begin at level 3.
Themes for this campaign include revolution, conspiracy, intrigue, and industry.
We will use DndBeyond for characters, Roll20 for maps, Discord for voice (mic required).
This campaign is streamed and recorded.
No animal or monster races.
No mental or psychic manipulation of NPCs.
Players must be 18 years or older and friendly to all varieties of people.

My first character option would be a ghost slayer vampire hunter (blood hunter), that may or may not be a dhampir (if you’ll allow it)
My second character option would be a warforged rogue that was programmed as a political assassin but doesn’t know it.

My first character option would be a swashbuckler rogue that grew up an orphan in Lordain but left the city as a kid after he and a friend crossed a local gang. He returns to Lordain now as an adult to see if he can find his lost childhood companion
my second option would be a Cleric with life domain who is seeking the secret to immortality and was drawn to Lordain due to all the advancement in the city. His patron would be Anubis
I'm also open to making any other character that would be needed to round out the party
