About Me
I've enjoyed D&D as a Dungeons Master for about 2 or 3 years, and been a player for over a year and a half. I invest a lot of time and energy into making every aspect of my games enjoyable, working with my player's to create the best experience for them. I prefer homebrewing my own stories over modules so that I have creative freedom and control and players can have a unique adventure no other has. In addition, I like helping players make backstories to give them some drive or connection to the campaign or world. During the actual story, I like making custom quests and items connected to the player character that tie into their backstory and how they're playing their character.
Why pay me?
Dungeons and Dragons is a very popular game where there are tons of DMs running free games. Unfortunately, many of them, experienced or not, may not have the most consistent or incentivized players. Free games fill up fast, but because some people may join or start a game without thinking twice about their own schedules, player or even DM no-shows or drop-outs are very common. You'll be lucky to find a consistent, let alone high-quality, online campaign.
However, payed games usually mean other players have a greater incentive to play as to not waste their money, and as the DM you're paying, I need to make sure I give the consistent quality that makes you feel like you're getting your money's worth. My goal is to not only meet that consistent quality, but to try and go beyond even that so we can both enjoy the work I've put in. If you've tried free games and find the inconsistency and have some characters whose story was never completed, we can adapt them to my game and finish them together.
In addition, D&D Beyond allows for content sharing, and I practically have every sourcebook and adventure book. So even if you don't have (as an example) Twilight Domain or Astral Elf, you can a Twilight Cleric Astral Elf using my content when you create your character in my campaign. For those of you who want to try out homebrew subclasses/races, or a new player who isn't quite sure on how they want to play, but have an idea form like an anime of movie, I can help create that homebrew for you. (If you already have homebrew, I can review it and either allow it as is or just make some tweaks for balance reasons and allow it.)
Beginners Welcome!
As said in the beginning and in the above paragraph, brand new players are welcome. Even if you have literally zero experience like you've just watched some YouTube videos and you wanted to try it out yourself, or you've actually a couple one-shots but can't find a group to play a full campaign with, this is the kind of campaign for you. We can set up a voice chat on discord where I can teach you the basic rules and then during the campaign you can ask questions mid-game for rule clarification or if you have an idea. 90% of the time for new players, the answer is yes, you just have to roll for it.
Campaign description
You'll be starting off on the small continent Galongaia in one of the eastern countries, called Galongaia Alted. You're an aspiring adventurer on their way to join the Silvergrand Guild, the countries major guild. Make sure you bring a character that has a reason to want to join. I have a couple examples listed below that you can use for inspiration if you don't have an idea yourself:
One Player Character (PC from here on) owes another PC money, so the previous joins the guild to pay off the other PC while the ladder can join for their own reasons (like so they're not broke).
You're PC heard about the guild's founder and wants to learn more about them for some reason, so they join the guild they founded.
You're character loves the adventurer's life and wants renown, joining one of the largest guilds on the continent and rising in their ranks seems great.
The actual campaign itself is quest-focus. One quest could be a young village girl is sick from a deadly disease paladins and clerics alike have been unable to cure. The town she's in is poor and doesn't have gold to offer. One of the clerics recognized it the disease, and can make a cure for it, however they need a rare flower that only grows in an ancient white dragon's carcass, known as an Everbloom. Despite the possible danger and lack of gold, will you help this girl regardless?
Not all quests are gloomy and on a time crunch. One might be to shut down an illegal toll gate set up by a few goblins to scam people out of there money harmlessly. The guild doesn't care if you burn it down or simply just capture the goblins and turn them into the authorities.
However, the world is dynamic, and quests don't last forever. If you ignore the girls quest for long enough, and no one else takes it, that NPC will actually die. That village could be in mourning if you go to it. The goblins may go through the proper channels and set up a legit toll gate you and every other NPC will have to pay to go through. Nothing is instant though, and the world may no necessarily change because you didn't go collect eggs for the farmer with the bad back. Quests have a decay life and a chance another adventurer may take it every time you go on a different quest. You can take multiple quests, but then you're directly responsible if they aren't finished in time. You're characters and the quests you get have a dynamic affect on the world. Not all quests are one and done either, some do create questlines that act as their own mini story.
Are you going to be the adventuring party who always goes for gold? Helps where needed? That's entirely for you and everyone else who joins to decide. I'm only the one giving quests and the stories attached to them, you progress the story and world through your words and actions.
Request to Join
If you'd like to join, send me a message over discord: ItsNotMe#7194. I'll send you an invite to the discord server, but before you officially become a player, I'd just like to talk to you for a little bit to see if you'll be a good match for everyone. I'm just going to make sure you read everything, ask you about you're experience, if you have any character ideas (its fine if you don't), and just overall get a feel of how you want to play. If I get a bunch of people who prefer combat or roleplay, the campaign will tread to towards combat.
This filter is part of the reason why my paid games are more consistent than others, because it allows me to get players with more open schedules and weed out people that will cause complications by doing something they aren't supposed to.
Payment (USD): There are two payment plans, per session and monthly. It is $10 per session or $50 per monthly. The goal is twice per week so you save about $30 per month on the monthly plan, but if we we have a month where we only play once per week, I'll refund the games we didn't play. The monthly plan is also a premium, where you gain other benefits like one free TaleSpire mini for the campaign.
Optional Payments (you can play without them):
Each TaleSpire mini is $5 per mini or $20 for 5 minis. This is entirely optional as there are plenty of free minis on TaleSpire already that I can use to represent your character without you having to pay.
There is TaleSpire on Steam, which is about $25. Using it lets you control your mini. However, if you don't want to do that, I can share my screen.
