I'm looking to fill the final two seats in our brand new Shadows Over Elturel game. This game will happen if we can get at least one more player by tomorrow. If we can't, we can try and start next week.
About the DM: Hi, I'm Darrin Drader. I started playing D&D in 1984 and I've been DMing games since around 1988. In 2000, I went to work for Wizards of the Coast and worked on the following D&D books: Book of Exalted Deeds, Forgotten Realms - Serpent Kingdoms, and Forgotten Realms - Mysteries of the Moonsea. I also wrote numerous web and magazine articles for D&D before moving on to other publishers. With well over 100 RPG credits to my name, I've been designing RPGs for 23 years now and also run a small publishing company.
About the Game: Danger lurks just beneath the surface in and around the city of Elturel and it will take much more than your average heroes to get to the bottom of it and restore peace to the lands. With a focus on exploration, adventure, and political intrigue, this campaign uses Elturel as the starting point and base, but expands outward into the rest of the world. Using the 5th edition rules, this campaign takes place in 1368 DR in a version of the Forgotten Realms where the world's future is not certain, despite what you may have read. As a GM, I like running combat-heavy games, but that is interspersed with a good amount of roleplaying. Striking a balance that suits the player's preferences is key, and I can be flexible. I make use of maps and tactical combat as opposed to "theater of the mind." I alternate between adventures I have designed myself and ones pulled from other sources, such as classic Dungeon Magazine adventures that I've converted to 5E and third party material. The key is to keep the story moving forward and not get too bogged down in a single location. My game is open to absolutely anyone who wants to play provided that all players understand that I run an LGBTQ+ safe game.
What you will need: An internet connection, a webcam, a Roll20 membership, and an 8th level character (I will have pre-gens ready in case you don't have time to make one).
