Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: In person Experience: New players ok, we have a mix of seasoned players and new players. Location/Timezone: Portland Oregon Availability: We currently play every other Thursday 5 pm to 8 pm, but can negotiate a new time or date as needed. Preferred role: player Game style: Currently we have a group of 4. We are running "Storm King's Thunder" and we'd like to add one or two more players to a table focused on fun, storytelling, exploration and sometimes general zaniness! We have two DMs in the group, and we do switch out sometimes. I serve as a relief DM, running one-shots from time to time; the other DM runs the ongoing campaign. The characters we have currently are a Bladesong Wizard, a cleric-rogue, and a fighter. A ranger, druid, barbarian or artificer would be a good choice for a new character.
We're not super serious like critical role. We do have some newer players, so don't worry if you don't have a lot of experience. Rules lawyers need not apply. You must be LGBTQ friendly and not allergic to a sweet older dog. We usually have a nice little potluck and snacks. Also 420 friendly (it's legal here, folks, simmer down). If you'd like to make friends as well as gaming buddies, this could be the table you're looking for.

So I dunno if this is weird to do (this far ahead) but I’m planning on moving to Portland towards the end of the year and would love to know a few people and maybe even have a group to play dnd with. I know it’s a ways off but, saw the post and thought it’d never hurt to reach out. I’m cool with doggos, I don’t smoke but don’t care if people do, and am gay. Anyways, if you’d like to chat a bit before then here’s my discord. SomeOtherErik#4444 cheers!
Not at all weird! I added you, I'm Vicneiros#8424. We are just getting into the campaign (maybe 3 sessions so far), and perhaps by the end of the year we could be on to another campaign. Let me know if you have questions! Hope you'll be able to join us!
Hello! Not sure if you guys are still looking, because it has been some time since you first posted, but I'd be interested in joining you! My last table disbanded because our main Dungeon Master moved away for work. So, right now I'm on the hunt for a new crew! I'm the type of player who loves to optimize and flavor their characters. If I'm invited I promise to bring tons of bad jokes and colorful hard candy --they're actually my dice, do not eat! If you have anymore questions for me you can reach me at dawstroyer#6619
Not sure if you are still looking for players or if you ever decide to add players in the near future. I am an OLD returning player..... as in last time I played was back in about 1998, so basically I'm kinda like a new player in a lot of ways. My daughter got into DnD and introduced me to Critical Roll, which sparked my interest again, but finding a group that is comfortable with somebody who is usually the age of their dad has been tough.... lol. I am very laid back and easy going, totally fine with LGBTQ+ (my daughter performs as a King at a few local shows), and I love dogs. I work M-F from 7-4'ish, every two weeks is a good fit for my time schedule right now, and I can make 5:00 work most any day of the week.
I know I will need to brush off my roll playing muscles, but I enjoy campaigns where people have fun and do unexpected things. I enjoy creating and playing characters true to their backstory and the history of their gameplay vs. trying to be overpowered - to me it should be a collaborative effort to get through most situations. I like a DM that is not actively trying to kill you, but is willing to let the dice rolls fall as they may, both good and bad. Sometimes the party gets lucky and skates through what should be a hard encounter due to amazing rolls and out of the box thinking..... other times they struggle with something that was supposed to be relatively easy.
I do have a DnD Beyond account and have Discord, but would prefer a in person game due to the more organic feal of them. I am not opposed to doing online if there are weeks where people can't make it or something like that. I have actually been playing around with artificer, barbarian, fighter, and rogue builds a little bit - nothing too serious. I had one kind of interesting idea of a Way of Kensei/Artificer Monk - the idea was that he have just enough skill to craft a specific weapon and the rest of the time he would basically be an unarmored monk fighting with simple/marshal weapons. The weapon he would create and use would start as a pair of metal Eskrima sticks to start, then over time he would add a mechanism to create 12" scythe blades that would spring out from the ends, and then the final craft would be a mechanism to be able to twist lock the ends of the sticks together creating a Bo-staff that could either be just a staff or a staff with one or two scythe blades on the ends. He would be limited to either no armor or light armor (DM's choice on that one), magic would be more of the Monk style magics - artificer skills would really only be for crafting of weapon.
Any way if any of that sounds like something that might work with your group feel free to reach out to me on Discord at running.with_scissors
Thanks!
