Plot

War of Truth: The war between the neighboring countries of Maximous and Falathel has lasted for 3 years now. On the frontlines of the southern front an attack wipes out most of the battlefield. Those that survive find themselves at the other's neck, while the nearby town is subjected to the after shock. In the aftermath of this event a story of truth seeking adventures who will uncover what this war is truly about.

Details

Before I detail how I run my games and all that information, I need to state that this campaign is 10 session in as of posting. One player recently and suddenly dropped from the group, and I am looking for 1-2 people to join us so that we can keep a healthy group size as we go forward. The party is currently travelling through a forest as they head to Falathel, the Elven nation. This might limit what I will allow you to play as, but we will of course discuss character creation in a 1-on-1 before I officially add someone. The party is 3rd level, and the compassion right now is a Eloquence Bard, Beast Barbarian, Stars Druid, and Divination Wizard. I will give your character a healing potion, and 50 gold that they can spend before we play and hold onto whatever remains.

This campaign will be broken up into "seasons" that will last for about 20 sessions each. At the end of a season, the campaign will be paused for no more than 3 weeks to allow myself to prepare for the next batch, while also giving any players an easy out if they are unsatisfied. Each session will be 3-4 hours long on average.

I charge $10 per player, per session. Session zero will be free of course, and if you do not find me to be the right kind of DM we can end at any point, no grudges. This campaign is LGBTQ+ friendly, and will use the Lines & Veils safety tool. I will mostly pick players on which day will have the most available, but if you have a prepared group I will prioritize that. I will only accept those that are 18+.

The setting of Vogard is high fantasy with some Final Fantasy-like elements. It is pre-gunpowder, so no firearms. This also means that I will not allow the Artificer. I am pretty liberal with character creation, so long as it isn't world breaking. A list of available races, classes, and subclasses will be provided near the start of the session 0. Homebrew outside of my own is unlikely to be approved, but I am very willing to work with a player to create something new. We will be playing over Discord voice chat, without cameras. Using Beyond for character sheets, as well as using Roll20 as our VTT. Stats will be selected through point buy. Hit points will be rolled when leveling, rerolling any 1's. I have a fair amount of homebrew races and subclasses for those interested in playing something new.
