In an ancient age, a magnificent realm thrived at the world's core, brimming with vibrant life and wonderous civilizations. Yet, destiny's cruel touch unfurled a devastating cataclysm from the Tome of Fate, forcing the people to flee underground in a desperate bid for survival. They abandoned a once-thriving paradise, now concealed in dark mysterious shadows.
Into the Great Abyss of the World, they fled.
With all their power and force, they fought and bled their way further into the heart of the underworld losing vast numbers along the way, they eventually settled.
Deep beneath the earth's surface...
They forged a subterranean existence that safeguarded them from the perils that plagued the surface world above. With each generation branching deeper and further into the earth to make room for the next to come.
As time drifted by, the descendants of these resilient people emerged from their underground havens, venturing into the once-desolate lands of their ancient ancestors heard only in books and tales that survived and that were passed down to the chroniclers.
What they found was a vastly transformed surface world, reshaped by the passage of time and teeming with unfamiliar wonders. Creatures that had been left behind, dormant for centuries, had evolved and adapted, becoming new and extraordinary forms of life.
Remnants of the old world can be found throughout the lands of Vorill and are now dangerous ruins filled with wonders and creatures old and new.
In the Heartlands of Paetor, they say you can find both the stairways to Heaven and to Hell.
