If you clicked on this post, then I take it you're interested in joining the campaign! Recently, one of my players dropped out, and I've been searching for someone to replace them. The group hasn't gotten very far yet, so it won't take too long to catch up. Here's some info, if you're curious.
The Riverhead is a bridge for all worlds. It is where the planes, the lands, and everything known to the world meet, and it is where the god resides. Beyond it, a forest of chaos, stretching infinitely through time. Outside of the Gods' reach, it is nonsensical and above all, dangerous. There are many reasons mere mortals would want to enter the Riverhead. Some by their devotion to a god or gods, others by a lust for money, power, or divinity. Whatever their reason, it was an adventure to make it here in the first place. You have gone through complicated rituals, deep histories, and hundreds of red herrings. Today, you find yourself at the Riverhead's edge. A singular building is beside you; it's a tavern, a resting place, the stead you go to rest after a straining journey. You've made it.
We accept people of all races, beliefs, sexualities, ages, and genders, though we do stay 13+ as per discord terms and conditions.
Still interested? Good! In your bio, please include the following: Name, preferred pronouns, timezone, discord username & tag, and a short bio of a character you might want to play. This character can be anything, no matter how strange, unorthodox, or wild it may be. So far, we already have characters based on Sci-Fi, steampunk, and fantasy alike.
Hey there - sounds fun. I've never done a PBP campaign before but have always wanted to try!

and a short bio of a character you might want to play: Hmm - how about a human warlock who has arrived from industrial revolution times, after having recently been visited by his patron and blessed (cursed?) With his warlock powers. He is confused and ultimately convinced he's gone mad and all of this is some sort of horrible nightmare he can't escape
a ghoul (like from the anime Tokyo ghoul) who wants to make his eating habit of eating humanoid creatures, one that is targeted towards evil figures rather than at random. I’ve had this idea for so long but haven’t found a campaign where the DM allows this homebrew. Hoping that this campaign with no rules is the exception I’ve been looking for! Hope to be playing with you all soon!
a human who want to see his long lost sister that disappear a 2 years ago, and did search on her for long time thus heard about RiverHead and start is travels looking for it suspecting her sister is in that place, hoping to meet her 1 day
I've got a few characters in mind, two that I think might fit into the bill you've described. Would be game for playing either.
Name: Pontus Pronouns: He/Him Timezone: GMT/GMT+1 (daylight savings and all that) Discord: pontvs (Pontus#3776 — discord's changed things recently, so I'm not sure how it's working now)
Potential Characters:
1. Eladrin dialled up to 11. Potentially even some lowborn descendent of a member of one of the courts. One of the Fair Folk the style of of folklore, rather than your typical, mischievous Tinkerbell type.
I'd need more info on the world to really nail down a proper backstory, but that also makes me open to suggestions and back-and-forth from the DM. The character himself would be very insightful, incredibly persuasive and deceptive, and positively enthralled with the making of (capital D) Deals, as well as placing a tremendous amount of emphasis on the power of words. This is someone who Never lies, but definitely should not be expected to tell the truth. Whimsical, clever, and very liberal with death and mayhem. Others', or even his own, potentially. (How liberal would depend on the group. I'm not particularly fond of playing 'Evil' characters or doing things that would put the party at risk for personal kicks, so there shouldn't be a need to worry there, but we might benefit from some lines and veils). Mechanics-wise, this would be mostly a College of Eloquence Bard, with a couple of Hexblade levels, for Repelling Blast, a better AC, and a neat little mechanical explanation as to why he's drawn to the weird and the magical. (Maybe later on even a 1 level Divine Soul Sorc dip for Favoured by the Gods, because Fey luck. Not sure yet.)
2. In keeping with the Fey theme, this one would be a Human "Sorcerer". My best guess for a backstory at this point would be a young, would-be merchant whose parents attempted to make a deal with an Archfey to make their son exceptionally attractive in order to win the hand of some noble's lady, or some other cliché. A fairly powerful Archfey cropped up (my first thought was the Queen of Air and Darkness, but it can easily be replaced), and thought the thing amusing, so she gave the parents what they'd wanted. She painted the boy in her own Archfey beauty. But (we all knew that was coming), she also cursed him to have his presence be practically nonexistent. So the boy was objectively beautiful, but also impossibly forgettable (this'd have to be subtle enough to not be abusable in RP through stealth or w/e, just a fun little quirk/flaw to play around with). The Archfey's "blessing" would've also given him the ability to use magic. And the boy, now a grown man, would seek these far-off lands to either A) find a way to break the curse, or B) just get the hell out of dodge and leave the Queen's radar entirely. Because an Archfey's attention is Not compatible with self preservation, 99 times out of 100. Mechanically, my goal for this character would be an "I-can't-believe-it's-not-butter" Sorcerer. Something that walks, talks and acts like a duck, but technically isn't. So, Order of the Scribes Wizard! (I think the ability to change damage on spells just screams both Sorcerer and Fey) For the Archfey blessing thing, I'm thinking maybe a level or two into Twilight Cleric? Fits the whole Unseelie Court thing very well, and does a lot more mechanically than a Warlock dip would, methinks. Also, because the goal is breaking type as a "non-sorcerer sorcerer" deal, I feel like using the cleric as a "non-warlock warlock" could be interesting as well, as well as cement a more fluid relationship between him and his "patron" (meaning more plot hooks, potentially).
Let me know if either works for you, and enjoy your week!
