2330: Elven Nobility District Elias crept slowly towards his meeting point, the courier only saying, "Be at the Shrine to Larethian at midnight." So, he crept along the back alleys and narrow side streets, cutting as direct yet indirect path towards that shrine as he could, looking over his shoulders periodically, checking for tails. He spotted the shrine, moved closer to it. As he approached it, a figure rose up out of the night like a specter, but when a streetlamp showered her form with luminance, he sighed with relief. "Elias? Why did the Mistress send you on such a dangerous mission?" She asked of the lowly acolyte. He smiled. "Perhaps she trusts me more than you, Lorel. Maybe, just maybe, she sees... urgh!" He never got to finish his sentence, as the curved blade of her dagger slammed into his gut, she jerking the blade up and then down forcefully. He dropped to his knees, looking up as the figure before him rifled his pockets, searching for the missive but coming up empty. Shedding the confining disguise, Thoxz looked pissed, as he hopped, his undersized wings flapping uselessly against Toril's gravity. "Where is it? Where is the cipher!" He screeched in Infernal, practically tearing the clothes off of Elias' lifeless corpse. "Looking for this, Fiend!" Came a woman's near-shouted challenge from the far side of the shrine, as the REAL Lorel stepped into the light of a streetlamp. Thoxz became immediately enraged that he'd been duped and charged at her, some 30 feet distant. The firebolt that left her fist blew a hole through the devil's heart so big, a hand of 3-Dragon ante could have been played inside his chest, he falling to the ground, his infernal soul and now lifeless body disappearing in a whisp of black and red flames and smoke. "NOW." She began to the young Acolyte, "Now you see why we employ homunculus. Aren't you glad that's not you over there?" He nodded vigorously. "Come, Solar Tiberious will require an update and I still have to send this stone to our contact in the Elven Nobility." "Can I deliver it? Now that the threat's been neutralized?" He asked, eager to prove his worth. She thought about it, cracked a sly grin. "Yes, but then hurry back. We have a special guest tonight, and I don't want to keep her waiting." She said, handing one half of a sending stone pair to him, he bundles it up into one of his many inner pockets, then bounding off the way only a Haregon could. "Be safe, small one, may Tiberious watch over and guide you." She said in a silent yet simple prayer...

Elias crept slowly towards his meeting point, the courier only saying, "Be at the Shrine to Larethian at midnight."
So, he crept along the back alleys and narrow side streets, cutting as direct yet indirect path towards that shrine as he could, looking over his shoulders periodically, checking for tails.
He spotted the shrine, moved closer to it. As he approached it, a figure rose up out of the night like a specter, but when a streetlamp showered her form with luminance, he sighed with relief.
