I'm in my early 40s, a family man, and looking for a casual, online group to roll with maybe once a week or so. D&D was a great part of my life in the 90s, when I played with a dedicated group of friends for several years, and seeing the game rising back into popularity has me wanting to get back into it. Plus Baldur's Gate 3 came out and took over all my late night free time and I'm itching to roll again.
I played several other table-top RPGs (Vampire: Masquerade, Heroes Unlimited, and Star Wars) as a player, typically rolling support-style characters - for numerous campaigns, my main character was a Kender/Halfling Rogue that I'll never forget and played as true to the race as I could. I also was DM for several campaigns, in which I created a new world, maps 'n all, with new races and classes. I've been a hobby fantasy writer since my early teens and still love storytelling.
Anyways, if there's a group in the Lunenburg County area of Nova Scotia looking for another player, hit me up. I do work full-time and have a family, so my free time isn't great, but I could see myself potentially having an evening dedicated to D&D working out. Any groups online, let me know.
Hi Adam. I'd love to talk. Your post is a bit older but perhaps your still looking for a great AD&D csmpaign experience. They are hard to come by I know.
Your mix of storytelling, past experience, and love for roleplay would be a really natural fit for The Nexus, our West Marches–style Discord community for 5e (2014 rules). We’re always welcoming returning players, casual schedules, and folks who want to jump into adventures at their own pace.
We’ve got a wide variety of tables and DMs, plus plenty of players who enjoy both roleplay and combat — and your support-style characters would slot in beautifully. You can use D&D Beyond, Dicecloud, or even a Google Sheet for character sheets, so flexibility is no problem.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, you can check us out here.
