"Dawn breaks on a small coastal town, folk are early out to the docks for there is much to be done, boats slip their moorings to sail past the break at high tide, merchants set stalls in salt spray of rickety square, and fishermen draw in the nets to see what the storm brought in, and so it is a net that begins our tale. Several strangers snagged in the fishers snare, survivors of a ship dashed on the rocks, are they pirates or smugglers? Maybe simple travelers, or merchants with now drowned cargo? Foreign mercenaries or perhaps... just what this place needs." Hello all fish and friends, I have been running a nautical homebrew setting adventure over discord, and unfortunately we've had some players drop to scheduling conflicts with summer coming to an end. As it stands we are only three sessions into the campaign, so here's the important things. -Looking for two to three players -Sessions are hosted on discord on Sundays at 6pm pst, 8pm ct, 9pm est -Sessions are weekly and are two to four hours in length If that sounds amenable, reply to this post or message me with your answers to the following questions, to help me ensure a good fit to the group -Level of experience with dnd? -Favorite class? -Favorite part of dnd, ie roleplay, combat, chaos, etc.? -Age? -Favorite sea shanty?
My favorite class so far is Paladin as it's the only one I've put a lot of time into! (I wanna try new classes, warlock being one that seems interesting lore wise)
DND for me is about really inquiring and pushing into the world, I wanna get lost in the world the DM creates.
I am interested, this sounds like a fun different type of campaign.
-Level of experience with dnd?
2 years playing and DMing, mostly dungeon crawler type of campaigns
-Favorite class? I have played Fighter and Paladin and loves them both. Wouldn't mind trying a new on also. -Favorite part of dnd, ie roleplay, combat, chaos, etc.? Love the combat and the chaos, haven't had much roleplay opportunity but would love to have that experience -Age? 43 -Favorite sea shanty? Spanish Ladies 😁
-Level of experience with dnd? I am a semi veteran (about a decade, mostly 3.5) with a lot of long-term campaign experience. I have a fair bit of virtual experience to where I feel pretty comfortable.
-Favorite class? I don't really have a favorite class because my class choices depend on the inspiration I get for the pictures that I have coupled with what other people want to play. I've played almost everything it's just a matter of the ease of playing digitally with 5th edition rules that I still am getting used to.
-Favorite part of dnd, ie roleplay, combat, chaos, etc.? I like a good mix of everything. I have so much experience playing that I understand some sessions will be more focused on role playing or combat or exploring than others but I ultimately like when there's as even a split as possible.
-Age? Mid-late 30s
-Favorite sea shanty? I don't honestly know that I know a lot of sea shanties. I know when someone starts singing one but I can't really think of any off the top of my head unless you count the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song. Cuz the title of your post I definitely started singing that as I was reading along.
I'm retired with no schedule limitations. I'm an experienced player, but I'm still learning 5e Looking for a group that has a healthy mix of hack and slash and Roleplaying. enough RP to make it fun and different from MMORPGs and enough hacking and slashing to so I don't feel like a bought a bunch of dice just to have them collect dust.
Hello! I'd love to join your merry crew! I literally just made my pirate character an hour ago lol!
Answers:
-I've played D&D for about 2 years, but due to COVID-19 I haven't played in almost 3 years.
-Rogue, I love being able to be a man of words while also being able to dodge and weave past enemies like I'm showing off. Plus, I have a deep love for my pirate character despite how rusty I am.
-The roleplay! I've roleplayed for about 9, 10 years now, and it's really fun!

-I don't remember what Sea Shanty it is, but my favorite one is the one used at the end of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Never fails to make me cry.
-Level of experience with dnd?: I've been a DM for about a year -Favorite class?: Cleric -Favorite part of dnd, ie roleplay, combat, chaos, etc.?: Combat is pretty cool -Age?: 28 -Favorite sea shanty?: Wellerman? maybe that's basic lol
-Level of experience with dnd? About...2-3 years of 5e and Homebrew
-Favorite class? I like the sneaky types, but I have recently fallen in love with Bards.
-Favorite part of dnd, ie roleplay, combat, chaos, etc.? Roleplay, because it opens for a lot of expansion, like character development and party bonding, as well as testing our limits with voice and emotional acting.
-Age? I'm 27.
-Favorite sea shanty? Leave Her Johnny Leave Her

Sounds interesting, i do have a question about something. When combat does come, do you do battle maps or just voice in discord?
As for the question. Been playing for 2 years about. dm and player
Favorite class is probably warlock, genie is my favorite subclass. but I am also partial to clerics.
I like finding creative ways to solve problems with abilities and items.
I am 22

Started playing TTRPGs in the 1980s. Played and DM'd a long list of TTRPGs in many genres. Currently running on a 5e campaign and playing in one 5e campaign
I'm not sure I have a solid favorite. Ranger is great for DPS, Wizard is great for utility, and Fireball of course. Clerics have a good mix of survivability. Artificers are just fun. So for each campaign i look at what the group has and fill in the gaps.
Favorite parts of D&D? a healthy mix of combat, RP, and chaos, without a bunch of edge lord darkness or spotlight hogging
