We have just recently (finally) discovered D&D and would like to join a new campaign with an experienced DM to help us learn and have fun! A group of "newer" players would be great, so we don't hold anyone back. :D
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: Central European time zones Availability: evenings after 7pm gmt Preferred role: Players (two, husband and wife) Game style: casual, roleplay, improving knowledge of the rules
I've been wanting to play since I discovered RPG video games as a kid, but had so much trouble convincing friends to even consider playing D&D. Now I've multiple characters running in Baldur's Gate 3 with a bunch of friends, all loving it, but still can't convince them to play the real thing. So my first time posting here, I'd be well up for a new player group if you want more players. After 7pm GMT suits me perfectly, and I'm open to playing any form of character. I have ideas for a few I'd like to roll into playable characters. When COVID struck, I picked up the Icespire Peak Essentials Kit and couldn't convince the family to play either, even with me DMing. But I've read through the materials several times, and am in general familiar with the rules. I could in theory DM that adventure, but I'd be much more interested in being a player-character at first, as I'm not entirely sure about my planning abilities for individual sessions. I think that would help me get a nice grasp of the flow of an adventure.
If you find a DM and need additional newbie players for a beginners session, I'd be interested in joining. I've only ever done two D&D sessions and those were both years ago, so I'm coming back to D&D almost 100% green.
I''m in the UK, so BST (GMT+1) - being only an hour out, 7pm GMT sessions would work fine for me, depending on what day of the week.
I just posted my own LFG for a beginner thread this evening before seeing this post. Not sure if you're allowed to post links to your own threads, so you can find it under threads in my profile. Is mine a similar sort of criteria and date/time availability to what you were looking for?
Just read your post you mentioned, similar sort of scenario as myself. Similar age, and I'm in Ireland so should you find a game hit me up! (How damn good is BG3 eh? I've just cracked into Act II yesterday in my single player run and I just can't get enough, but I am trying so hard to spread it out and savour it!)
Hi you two, and welcome to the best hobby you'll ever pick up, haha :D
To start off: would you be interested in a paid game?
I'm a DM and I am actually in Central Europe myself (Amsterdam Time). I am currently starting up a newbie-friendly campaign called the Dragon of Icespire peak, which is a great story which is very forgiving for new players.
Now do mind: free games are a fair and great alternative so don't feel like you have to choose a paid game, but paid games do have a few pro's: - As a paid DM, I have the incentive to show up prepared and provide an outstanding gaming experience week after week. - Charging a small fee per person virtually eliminates postponed sessions and busted campaigns due to player no-shows, - and more.
