Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: UK - BST (GMT+1) Availability: Weekday evenings 7pm+ (excluding Thursdays) + Saturday from mornings until 1pm + Sunday from morning until 5pm. Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual/beginner friendly group - open to trying most settings/themes (the traditional medieval+magic type fantasy settings or steampunk, sci-fi etc) - 18+ players only
I'm a 36 male mostly newbie to D&D. I did a couple of very casual face-to-face sessions when I was at university about 15 years ago and enjoyed them, but other hobbies, lack of interest from my local friends, working life after uni finished and various other limp excuses resulted in my not picking it up further. I kept thinking about trying it out again but after years of umming and ahing I never getting round to it.
I'm a PC gamer and particularly enjoy single player/story-focused RPGs & CRPGs, currently really enjoying Baldur's Gate 3, which has finally given me the extra push after years of hesitating to give D&D a proper try out.
I'd ideally like to start with single session jobs or shorter campaigns to get the basics down, but assuming all goes well am interested in getting into long-term campaigns with a regular group of people, as I'm looking for a new weekly/regular sociable hobby as the summer ends, the UK edges towards 6-8 straight months of damp windy weather and takes with it my outdoors summer-time hobbies :P
Happy to group with other new players to learn the ropes together, learner DMs who need easy-going practice group players, or more experienced players/DMs who are happy carrying ignorant newbies along for the ride XD
Are you interested as a player/dm and what level of experience? Either is welcome, just so I know what participants I'd still be looking for :)
Once I've got interest from a few people here and on other peoples similar LFG/P threads, inc a potential DM, I'll start hitting people up on discord to chat more specifically about session preferences and availability, and arrange a group chat or something to see if the group seems a good fit.
I'm in the UK, am almost completely new to DnD - played a bit when I was at school, but that was a long time ago - like 2E ago! Also played some Cthulu and Travelers back then, too. Like you, my recent experience with crpgs (BG3, DOS2, Pathfinder) has sparked my curiosity for ttrpgs, and with a lack of any irl friends who share this curiosity I landed here whilst looking into online play.
I'd definitely put myself in the "learning the ropes" camp, too.
Hello, if you're still looking for players, I am interested.
29F. I'm in the GMT+3 timezone; I can play only on Saturdays (any hour really).
I am a relatively experienced player (5e only) - played a few sessions in a homebrew campaign before, and I am currently playing in a Curse of Strahd campaign (about 20 sessions in, on hiatus).
