Character Backstory:
Daven Lopex was born and raised in a serene, community-oriented town nestled in the heart of a vast kingdom. From a young age, he exhibited a strong sense of duty and an unshakeable commitment to justice. These qualities made him stand out among the other children in the close-knit village, and as he grew older, it became evident that he was destined for a life of service.
When the drums of war echoed across the kingdom, Daven didn't hesitate. He enlisted in the kingdom's army and served as a soldier on the front lines. During his time in the military, he witnessed the horrors of war firsthand. He saw comrades fall in battle, experienced the brutality of conflict, and carried the emotional scars of those terrible experiences with him.
After the war, Daven returned to his hometown, where he was hailed as a war hero. The tight-knit community revered him not just for his courage on the battlefield but for the unwavering sense of honor and duty that defined him. Daven took on the role of a lawman, using the skills and discipline he had acquired in the military to maintain order and uphold justice in his hometown. He was respected and admired by everyone he served, and his dedication to the safety of the community was unwavering. During his time as a lawman, Daven rekindled a childhood romance with Elara, his sweetheart from years past. They married and were blessed with a daughter named Jenevelle. However, tragedy struck when Elara died in childbirth, leaving Daven to raise their daughter alone. Despite this devastating loss, Daven never lost hope and poured all his love and care into raising Jenevelle. The community rallied around Daven, recognizing his sacrifice and the burdens he carried. Neighbors and friends joined together to help raise Jenevelle, forming a close-knit support network that strengthened the entire town.
Then, one fateful day, Daven's life took an unexpected turn. His long-lost brother, whom he hadn't seen in nearly two decades, arrived at his doorstep. Disheveled and desperate, Daven's brother had lost everything due to a crippling gambling addiction. Daven couldn't turn his back on family in their hour of need and welcomed his brother into his home. The community, known for its spirit of unity and compassion, embraced Daven's brother with open arms. They saw him as a member of their extended family, and the town's bond grew even stronger with the new addition. However, tragedy struck again, and it shook the town to its core. While on a routine patrol one evening, Daven heard a blood-curdling scream and commotion emanating from the local tavern. He rushed inside to fulfill his duty as a lawman, only to be confronted by a horrifying sight. His brother, fueled by alcohol and rage, stood with a dagger in hand over the lifeless body of the young barkeep. In a fit of drunken fury, Daven's brother had committed the first murder in the small town in nearly half a century. Daven's heart broke as he realized the magnitude of the situation. Despite the familial bond and the years of separation, he knew he had no choice but to bring his own brother to justice. Daven arrested his brother, and the Captain of the Guard sentenced him to hang for the heinous crime. It was a painful and heart-wrenching decision for Daven, torn between his duty as a lawman and the love he still held for his sibling. The small, close-knit community was left in shock, as they grappled with the tragedy that had befallen their beloved town hero and his family. Daven Lopex's life had been marked by sacrifice, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. Now, he faced the most challenging trial of his life as he watched his own brother face the consequences of a terrible crime, knowing that he had done what was necessary to protect the community that had always been his home. The community he swore to protect became the community that condemned him for the acts of his brother. Had he not allowed his brother to come home, the poor barkeep would still be alive. Daven would carry this shame, as the town pushed him away, exiling him for the sins of the family. Daven kissed his daughter goodbye and promise to return, as he left his 3 year old in the care of his closest friend, Samuhel the mayor of the town and his wife as they could do nothing but watch as the town rallied against Daven. And so Daven set forth, to find a new place for he and his daughter to call home.
Mason, according to your other post, your also a minor. Some players most likely wouldn't be comfortable with that. Good job on dming at a young age though. I wish I'd found dnd at your age :)
Hello, I’d love to join as a new player, I’ve been searching nonstop for a bit now. I have a character already made with artwork and a simple backstory that I can edit based on what route we all decide to go. I’m 15, so if that’s too young for your comfort I completely understand. I’m CDT and will likely always be available after 1:00-2:00pm, I may have appointments come up but I’ll be sure to let you know in advance! I already have my roll20 account set up but have not entered any characters yet. My discord is fictionall if you’d like to add me to further discuss, let me know if I can join, and overall see if I’m a fit for your group. Thank you for reading!
