Fairly new DM, seeking Newer players for a long-term Open-world Campaign in the D&D world, exploring the map of Faerun.

The World: This will be an open-world campaign, with many side-quests leading towards the prized treasure that all adventurers seek, The Wishing Stone. We will explore the map of Faerun, and the D&D world, clashing by sword and staff with Goblins, Gnolls, undead, and creatures from beyond the deep. We will praise or scorn your forsaken gods and find whatever pentance you seek. And there will be treasure, there will be war.

Game: D&D 5e, on roll20 - Level 3 - we are continuing from Level 3 or 5, so your Player will bypass early level 1 experiences (killing sewer rats and gnolls)
Location/Timezone: CST, USA
Schedule: Weekly - Sunday 8am CST
Attendance will be important! We don't want to interrupt your life schedule! - Not a fan of lies, "I'm not feeling well." Just say, "I cant make it." ahead of time. Life happens! If we're missing more than 2 players, we may postpone the next session until the following week.
Group type: Online - Discord Voice (required), dndbeyond.com for Character Sheets + Equipment/item tracking - roll20 for Map / Game-board / Player Unit placement/Control / Story Elements.
Tools you will need: register with, roll20 and dndbeyond, and Discord.
Experience: DMing, New / a year.
Roles sought: 1-3 Players on an existing, Continuing Campaign.
Game style: "Casual" 65% combat 15% puzzles 20% role play/story - No God complex DM, but there will be a judgement of risk/reward and treasures abound!
Races: Only the first set of Races in the PHB, Players Hand Book
I'm 37, a semi-veteran of D&D, but not to DMing, I know the basics and I welcome you as new players to learn the basics and bear with me as we create new adventures together! I know what I'm doing and can guide you through how gameplay works.

We will be focusing on RAW, D&D 5e Core Roles according to:

with a handful of Homebrew mechanics (as per Player Handbook) such as Stealth, Acrobatics, Jumping, Magic learning, New and Improved Shops, etc. (actually reading through the handbook, any 'learning' or 'crafting' or 'day job,' is pretty much homebrew, I have a list of Gems, Items, Armors, Shops, and Treasures that I've created to help add to the standard RAW "lantern, rope, lockpicks, club, etc" Economy and how Gold and EXP works will be Venture-Based.

I'd like to start a, "Session 0" meet-and-greet, set and seek expectations on how you wish to play, setting up the board, help with character/class creation, etc. It would be ~1-1.5 hours and no Mission on Session 0.

- Read the PHB, The most important to you, will be Races / Classes. There are many classes, read their sections if you're interested in a play-style.

(I've had new players add +3 god items to their characters, umm knock yourself out during testing, but we start with a fresh slate and basic armor)
- Find an Avatar, some people use Hero Labs, some people find copyright free graphics online, others Draw their own character.

I think roll20 net will be the only option for Playing-Board for now, if you want to try to Register, it's free.
dndbeyond in association with Hasbro/WotC recently released their long-awaited, "MAPS" grid-board, which I think acts the same as roll20, not sure if it requires a subscription.
There's also Foundry, which i haven't tried, but is one-player-pay-all-others-free, a more complex version of roll20.

If you have ideas, feel free to share.
Edit: For new players, and all players, we use, 1.) discord voice 2.) roll20 3.) dndbeyond for character leveling, spells/abilities, / item Tracking / Custom. (5million gold pieces doesn't just appear in your purse.)

The biggest conflict over the next-week is finding a crew that all-fits the right Time-Slot.

There's a bunch of interest, but the challenge is aligning Times that all players can attend.

Hi, Im interested in joining as as well. I am new to D&D, 39 and looking to learn how to play as my daughter, 7, wants to start playing adventures with me acting as a DM.

 I thought it may be best to start out as a player first :) and learn the mechanics with a DM that knows what they are doing. I understand the basics but other then trying to DM a game with my significant other and daughter don't have much experience.  I purchased the 5e starter set and read though the books that came in it.
