Hello!
I’m in the process of starting a game using the Theros book as the setting. A few people have shown interest, but as a woman, I would love to have at least 1-2 more female players at the table, so I thought I’d announce it here too. It doesn’t mean that if you’re a guy you can’t apply, I’ll just give a little more preference to women. I’ll leave the link to the Roll20 announcement below. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to answer here or DM me either here or on Roll20.
I'm a woman. How is the campaign going to be run? To be honest I didn't even know you could send messages on Roll20, I haven't used it that much, all campaigns I've played have been through Discord and using the Avrae bot.
I can relate though, I often get into campaigns with no women as players besides me
It's been a while since I last played online, so I'm not familiar with Avrae. I was planning to use Roll20 for the maps, tokens, rolls, etc. and probably Discord for the voice and general messaging in between sessions. Once you're a player in a game in Roll20 you get access to something like a little forum for the game where you can create threads, so that kinda helps with the organization, and yeah you can send DMs to players even before you're part of a game. I'm open to exploring tools other than Roll20 if everyone agrees there's a better option.
Avrae is a discord bot that connects directly to dndbeyond, so you can import your characters and do all their rolls on discord through commands, it applies your bonuses on skill checks, saves, and attacks, it keeps track of spell slots and other counters (ki points, lay on hands pool, remaining uses of rage, etc.), you can do initiative encounters, and add PCs and creatures to it, the bot keeps track of the initiative, the remaining HP and AC, if an attack hits, effects applied and their duration (it for example tells you when a character has shield of faith on them and how much time remains, or concentration in a spell). You can also use it to look up creature statblocks, subclasses, classes, feats, races, and items you have access to on dndbeyond by using a command. And it also works with homebrew. So you can do everything in Discord. Pretty cool overall, though you first need to learn commands and how to use things first.
Though now that you mentioned using voice, I'm not really comfortable doing so and I get kinda lost trying to follow, last time I was in a campaign where we used VC it was just not a good experience for me at all, so yeah I probably won't be joining
Hello! I'm a woman interested in potentially joining, this campaign sounds super cool, I read the concept and absolutely love it, I just wanted to ask a couple quick questions!
1. Is there any content warnings on the campaign? I wouldn't be comfortable with anything sexually explicit but otherwise I'm fine with mature content.
2. Will the first session be a session 0 to help build characters for the campaign? I have a looot of character concepts but they'd probably need some changes to fit the setting.
HI, I am not a woman but i am nonbinary (AFAB). I live on the eastcoast and I am interested in playing. I have no idea what Theros is but I'm willing to learn. My discord is jc.booker.

That's alright, no worries! I hope you find a group that suits you better soon.

Hi Dahlia!
I'm not comfortable with sexually explicit content either, so I don't plan to include it or allow it at the table. Once we have a complete group we can discuss if there are other topics we would like to avoid during the campaign. And for the second question, yes, this Sunday we'll have a session zero, we can absolutely help with the character creation process then. If you decide you want to apply, please answer the following questions and send them to me through your preferred method (Roll20, Application thread, here, DM, etc.).
Preferred name and pronouns
Age
Experience with D&D and Roll 20
Please order these from the one you enjoy the most to the one you like the least: Combat, exploration, roleplaying, puzzles. (Nothing wrong with choosing one over the other, I’d just like to know how to better balance the story.)
What themes/situations would you be interested in exploring in this setting?
Any idea who you’d like to play? Or if not, what’s an archetype or class you’re interested in? (Keep it to a paragraph or two, character creation will be done in detail during session zero)

Hi, JC!
That's okay, please feel welcome to apply! Theros is a D&D setting (for example like Faerûn) that is inspired by Greek Mythology. Its main themes are the influence of capricious gods on mortals and destiny. If you're interested please send me your answers for the the application questions through your preferred method (Roll20, Application thread, here, DM, etc.).
