We are group looking for 1-2 more players to play in a new campaign in a homebrew world. The setting for the campaign is that the party are members of an adventurer's guild that take various contracts and assignments to explore, adventure, and interact with the wide world around them. This campaign will feature a balance of roleplay and encounters set on maps.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online-Roll20 with Discord for voice chat. Experience: New / a few years / veteran Location/Timezone: The group currently has players in US Eastern and Central Time Zones Schedule: Weekly on Thurdays 9:30 or 10PM to Midnight EST Roles sought: 1-2 players (18+) Game style: This game will balance role play, combat, and exploration. We are open to players of any skill or experience level. You don't have to do character voices or accents, but everyone is highly encouraged to participate in role play in whatever way is appropriate to their character. Even if your character is quiet or reserved, figure out a way to have them interact with others and the party. No brooding/loner characters. We are definitely open to jokes and silliness, but if your character or character's behavior entirely revolves around jokes this might not be the game for you.
Characters will start at Level 3, and will be new members of the Steele and Locke Adventurer's Guild. The reason for this, is that as new members of an adventurer's guild, it is expected that you are talented and have some experience in the world. The party will choose from among contracts and assignments given to the Guild. These adventuring missions will last anywhere from one to several sessions. However, the contracts and adventuring missions take place in the context of a larger campaign that takes place in a living, breathing world that reacts to the actions of the party. Even though there are contracts and assignments, the campaign is set in a sandbox setting and the party can choose to do whatever it wants. Characters can be built using any published 5e material, critical role material, or unearthed arcana (with DM permission). We use a custom method of rolling for attributes that is generally very favorable to the players. We will use milestone leveling.
A couple things about me and this game. I am pretty relaxed as a DM, and will generally rely on players to keep track of their own characters including spell slots, HP, abilities, etc. I have served as a GM in other games, and ran DnD one shots, but this is my first campaign as a DM. I view my role as DM as being responsible for facilitating everyone having a good time, and will do my best to make my rulings reflect that. I expect that if you have a disagreement with me or another player, it gets addressed before or after the game, not during.
If you are interested in joining please make a post with the information below:
-Name you prefer to be called
-Age
-Experience with tabletop games
-What you expect out of this game, and what you hope to avoid.
-Character concept: Race, class, any subclasses, and any other other information you want us to know about your character (you don't have to give away too much background if you don't want to)
-Experience: Been playing live dnd for 1+ year with close friends and biggest fan off Critical role (3rd time watching trough the hole serie). First time playing online, I know about Roll-20 and have discord.
-Expectaion: A good time, killing some Monsters and rolling some dice with hoppfully new friends.
-Character: I have 2-3 ideas ready if needed. Wish too play a fighter (battle master/Archery) Bg: Haunted one.
Backstory: My name is Orrug Holter and I'm a lucky married man with a wonderfull daughter. Well I used too.... at least at one point. I did something, something terrible..... Well the thing was not nessesarly something I did, but more something I didn't.....
I worked for the local Hunter in my village. Apart from hunting for meat and hide we also worked with the local farmers. We protected variety of cattles from monster attacks. We killed all kinds of things, deformed bears, giant snakes we even one time drow away a small band of goblins.
But one night change everything.
I do have my own ideas what happend, what kind of demon/shadow ho haunts me. But I'm willing too discuss with the dm before hand.
Summory of one idea: We hunted down a sadowly beast ho lead ous to it "owner" a big wraith/shadow. The entei killed my master and threatened me with the same faint. It gave me a choice, too spare my life in exchange for another.
-Offer me your first born and I'll give up apon taking you're soul.
I pleadded and begged for salvation. But with no other way out I gave in. The next morning I found my self woken up at the outskirt of town. After thinking about the encounter I started too pitch a plan. I seeked out a close friend, a cleric in the neighboring town. I persuaded him to help by sending my only daughter to a monastery as far away as possible. After all the arrangmeant were done I returned home leaving my child in the hands of the gods.
On the road back I saw smoke rise and I found my home and wife scorch to crisp. Imedetley a voice whispiering in my head.
-I allways get what I want! I'll have that child!
Since then I have been living in horror over what will happend next or if I failed my daughter aswell. Hes trembling voice haunts me too this very day. I constatly seek knowegle and power too one day redem my misstakes and overcome my fear.

Ramble Ramble Ramble!! Sorry for bad writing. This was mainly all in my head but I hope you get the picture.
Expectations: Hopefully a long term party to run games with. Equally enjoy story and combat.
Character: As for a character, would probably run a cleric. Though for a backstory I'd like to know more about your homebrew world, its gods and customs before I try to delve into a character history.
-What you expect out of this game, and what you hope to avoid.
I expect fun and friends not ********
-Character concept: Race, class, any subclasses, and any other other information you want us to know about your character (you don't have to give away too much background if you don't want to)
aasimar fighter. He’s chaotic neutral because he can’t distinguish good and evil anymore and he kills whoever gets in his way.
Bryce, 18 years of age, EST. I’ve been playing DnD for over a year now.
Im looking for a severe joke character drought. I’m fine with comedy, but characters purely dedicated to the art of memery are starting to drive me off the deep end and I’m not sure how much longer I’ll last. As for any other things, I’m fine with whatever, as long as it’s dnd and I get to flex on everyone.
In regards to a character, since you all seem to be squishy af so looks like I’ll need to whip out the ol’ reliable paladin: Titus Iudex, Scourge Aasimar, any Oath depending on what you all need and what the general alignment of the party is. Since I don’t wanna type out homie’s backstory I’ll just give an abridged version.
Backstory: Titus was conceived in a land under the heel of a tyrannical ruler. Later he overthrew it and liberated his people, now he goes about helping people (or screwing them if I end up being oathbreaker or Conquest).

-semi-experienced. I've played a few one-shot campaigns and am a long-time follower of Critical Role, if that helps any.
-I expect to find some good people and players, I'm really excited to dive into D&D for real and wish to just have a lot of fun while adventuring in this world and becoming more comfortable with playing tabletop games!
- I've got this concept for a Dragonborn Paladin named Kovah who's a chaotic evil bastard who wants to see the world burn, but can't achieve that goal without some sort of pedastal to stand on. He'd probably wind up in this adventuring guild looking for quick cash and a way to get a following of people to help him in his conquest.
My name is John. I am 31 and have been playing for 1 year in 3 games. I have enjoyed playing immensely. I have not played face to face but I have played online in 2 different forms. Tabletop simulator I have started a game in Roll20.
1. Bernard Calishite, Human
2. Noble Paladin
My name is Bernard of the noble house of Calishite. I am sure you have heard of us. At a young age I was compelled to join the righteous paladin's of Pelor. As a right of pilgrimage, I plan to travel the countryside recruiting for agents of the light. Seeking balance and justice in the eyes of the law and by the grace of Pelor. Earning renown for my family at the same time. The Calishite... I've told you, haven't I? Very well known. In fact, if those find themselves unworthy of Pelor's light, I could always offer them a place in my families armed mercenary legion. The Calishite's, remember? Pelor blesses you.
-What you expect out of this game, and what you hope to avoid.
I want to find a group of people who care more about RP then Min/max. I want to avoid games just about fighting.
-Character concept: Race, class, any subclasses, and any other other information you want us to know about your character
I was thinking of a Human Monk Named Dolin. He cares more about cooking and finding the best materials to make the best food. What better way then an adventuring guild.
As for my familiarity with DnD, I'm an absolute virgin. Never played a game, but have been really interested in it for a while now. As such, I've read up a lot about it, and understand rules n' stuff well in theory, but who knows how well that'll hold up in practice. I'm super excited to finally play, given the chance!
What I want from the game... I'm looking for a fun-filled adventure with fun characters. I love the aspect of dropping a bunch of characters together and seeing how their personalities mesh and match. So you could say I'm really into the role-playing aspect of the game + story and all that good jazz. As for what I want to avoid, I'm not too fond of people meta-gaming or trying to hog the spotlight. Team game, right? Plus people who jump out any time a rule is broken and says that "it's not how it's done." Just have fun, y'know?
As for my character... I'm looking at being a human fighter named Syrell. A girl who never stops smiling, no matter what the situation, and often tries to fill the world around her with good energy and laughter. No real tragic backstory, more of a 'regular citizen being thrust into a grand adventure' kind of deal.
Anyway, look forward to hearing from you! And if I don't get in, I wish you all the best of luck!
-I'd like to have a casual roleplay with important combat moments.
-Character concept: Laki, the goliath bear totem barbarian. He is a hulking mass of meat and muscle bred for war, and combat. He finds his worth and purpose in the world within the blood he spills. However he is not so naive as to believe he can survive on his own considering what he has seen, even if his pride would never allow him to admit it. Laki comes from a wandering tribe, and his reason for leaving is not something he discusses at length. He seeks greater challenges within the adventuring guild, and seeks only to rise to the top.
-Name: I've gone by the alias "Kerrec" online for 20 years.
-Age: 41
-Played various pen & paper systems bi-weekly for the last 7 years. Never played 5e, but I watch Critical Role. I've also jumped headfirst into 5e by DM'ing a Play-by-Post for the Lost Mines of Phandelver for some RL friends.
-What I expect: Interesting stories, crazy situations, fun solutions. Character development, tactical combat. Reliable attendance. That being said, I'm not available unless it's 9pm to Midnight EST, per the OP, as I have a newborn daugther and a 2.5 year old.
-Character concept: I have several character concepts. I have a Barbarian/Fighter concept, 2 Monk/Assassin concepts, and a Bard. I'd be interested in playing any of them.
