Location: DM is based in South Carolina, but players can be...anywhere!
Availability: DM (and NPCs) responds daily to posts with possible updates, if needed, on Tuesday and Friday nights, in which, the DM will move the story along. Players are expected to periodically check, respond, interact, and/or post once-a-day. A player who hasn't participated for a 24-hour period may have their character controlled by the DM and/or put into a "permanent long rest."
Roles Sought: A maximum of 4 player-characters of level 3 using only D&D Beyond 5e Basic Rules, PHB, MM, DMG, SCAG, TCE, and XGE shared content

What is Play-by-Post (PbP)? Using text-based narration and collaboration, PbP is a role-playing game system, in which, players interact with each other and the environment via text-chat like Discord to create a fun, collaborative story of the imagination. Like other TTRPGs, PbP is moderated by a dungeon master who controls all aspects of the game - except the actions, reactions, and narrations of the players.

What is a Mini-Shot? Usually a one-page dungeon or area and using a short, self-contained, story arc, detailed location descriptions, fun combat with monsters, challenging puzzles, and interesting NPCs, a DDB mini-shot is a small, single adventure designed to be played by new players to introduce and learn D&D while also giving experienced players a fun adventure. Using Discord, a mini-shot PbP lasts less than a month IRL.

Beginning of the Ballad of Bronze Bay

Through the gaps in the cotton ball clouds, pillars of silver and gold sunlight illuminate the Whale Bones islands. Passing a small bay, Captain Aes of the 30-foot sloop, the Sea Spray, says, "Bronze Bay." The captain begins to string his lyre and sings, "The gull soars o' the water glossy sheen. Breeze fills o' the coastal fetch. Causing rocking o' the ketch. The warm color creating the day clean. The sea brought you to me. O' like the hive to the honey bee. The sea brought you to me. Our embrace approaches infinity. The sailor stranded is the new scene. Either a heart full o' hate. O' a friend to call me mate. Answer revealed at the flash o' green. The sea brought you to me. O' like the hive to the honey bee. The sea brought you to me. Our embrace approaches infinity."

Like spotlights on a bard's stage, the bases of the sun pillars highlight the brilliantly saturated chromatic hues of the coral and underwater plants passing beneath the Sea Spray's wooden hull. After nights traveling from Ruathym toward Waterdeep, the course is veiled by the foggy horizon ahead. The percussive waves boom as they crash in the rocky, coastal cliffs with an explosion of mist and spray. In cadence with the sights and sounds of the waves, the characters chew their fish sandwiches made of fresh bread baked in the small galley and grilled fish easily caught from the sea. As the characters take more bites, a sun pillar bathes them in warmth, and they glance up in reverence to see a winged silhouette casting a shadow. Their pulses quicken as the silhouette descends out of the sun. With a piercing squawk the creature lands on the gunwale next to the characters - a seagull! After a peck at their sandwiches, the seagull squawks and stares at them. Squawk! Squawk!

Well...tt seemed the Discord server crashed as I was writing the final posts. I will see if the server comes back or if all is lost. Hummm, sucks.
